The British claim that a real lawn has been grown for three hundred years. You can believe this, seeing in the pictures an impeccable British landscape. For the lack of three hundred years in reserve and taking into account the fact that landscape design came into Russian reality not so long ago, one should not be surprised that for our compatriots a fast-growing lawn grass is preferable, which does not need to be cut or necessary, but very rarely. But there are many such varieties. You only need to first answer yourself a few questions, and only then buy seeds.
Where will the lawn be?
On private courtyards, you can mostly see small well-kept lawns in front of the house. Usually these are well-lit places, which is favorable for any grass. If the lawn is planted under trees - there are varieties of seeds that sprout poorly in the shade. And under some trees, for example, conifers or shrubs such as dogwood, the grass practically does not grow. If the estate is at the edge of the forest - there are difficulties: foliage, tree seeds, twigs and other garbage will always fly onto the lawn and cause a lot of trouble. Some people lay a lawn for sports games somewhere in the backyard, and what lawn grass is better in this case - you will also need a consultation. Not every grass is durable.
How to choose lawn grass? It depends on what purpose the lawn is planting. Lawns are mainly of four types: sports, park, ground floor and Moorish, it is also variegated. If we proceed from our request - a lawn grass that does not need to be mowed - then we can choose a low-growing meadow bluegrass, soft, giving a good grass stand and resistant even to severe frosts. Also suitable is a thin or shoot-like polevole. By the way, it can grow in shaded places, its grass is soft and soft, so that children can run on it barefoot. In addition, the polevole is a beautiful grass in itself and can become a decoration of the site. There is one “but”: it must not be allowed to spike, and therefore at least once a season it is necessary to cut. Imported varieties are also popular now, in particular, “Canadian Green” - undersized and unpretentious, giving a dense lawn. But it also needs to be trimmed at least once every two weeks, since it is stretched to a height of 10-12 cm. But the variety is resistant to budding, unlike many domestic ones. And another significant advantage: the grass copes with weeds better than others.

"Lawns for the lazy"There is such a name. For such plantings, lawn grass is recommended, which does not need to be cut at all, and not always because of stunting. For example, planting clover or a mixture of herbs, where clover will be at least 40-50%, you can forget about all the chores. The grass will grow like a decorative planting, will not scrub, and the whole season will be in small flowers - white, pink or red. However, clover quickly multiplies, and if you want to remove it then it will be very difficult. Moorish is also considered a "lawn for the lazy" - this is a special mixture of the most unpretentious and stunted varieties.
Is it even easier?
You can: buy a rolled lawn. And you don’t need to plant, and here is the finished lawn grass that you don’t need to cut. But here, as elsewhere, there are drawbacks. Firstly, very expensive. Secondly, the turf is very heavy, and several pairs of hands should lay it. And his life span is shorter than that of ordinary sowing grass. And he needs top dressing the same as other types of lawns. Honestly, it only says that you don’t need to mow the lawn - care is also needed.
Or maybe just buy a lawn mower, plant your own meadow fescue or bluegrass - and enjoy the mowing of the lawn, the smell of mowed grass and the results of your work?
