A couple of years ago I needed a music cutting program. The fact is that I really liked the song that sounded on the radio, and I decided to use its initial fragment as a ringtone for a mobile phone.
When I typed the words “program for trimming music” in Google, there were a lot of different programs, but of them I liked working with the Sony product most of all, it is called Sound Forge.
Much time has passed since then, my acquaintance with Sony in general and with Sound Forge in particular has significantly strengthened. And today I would like to talk about the new version of this wonderful product - Sound Forge 10.
Like any other application for working with sound, the Sony SF10 created has several main tasks, and it stands out from the mass of competing programs with countless additional features. This is not just a music cutting program, it is a whole musical processor for professional work with musical works. With the help of plugins, its capabilities can be expanded indefinitely.
The main functions of this package are known to most PC users working with sound very well. So I’ll talk more about the new features of the tenth version.
So in Sound Forge Pro 10 you will have the opportunity to work with audio fragments with unprecedented accuracy. Manipulations with entry and exit points, fades and other instruments rise to a new level of convenience. Now you can stretch the melody or sound in time with the adjustment of tone / pitch.
The Zplane elastique Pro timestretch package responsible for these conversions is installed in the standard version; it does not need to be purchased separately.
This plugin is very different from the usual “time stretcher” by a well-developed algorithm for lengthening audio fragments without introducing distortions in pitch / tone.
In other words, if your program for trimming music because of your own curvature, or because of your inability to work with it, cut your files too short, with this plugin you can fix the situation.
Tools and desktop
The new version has the ability to change the location of additional tools and the configuration of the entire desktop program to your needs.
So, for example, you can place all the tools you need for some difficult task right on your desktop and save their location, the next time you need it, just download this option again and get to work. It will now be very convenient to use several monitors, the speed of work in this mode is significantly increased. If you just use SF10 as a program for trimming music, then, of course, you do not need these functions.
Effects
In the new version, as well as in the previous one, you will have access to forty sound effects and processors that can be easily and conveniently used in real time, simply applying them to the sound on the timeline and immediately getting the finished result.
Sound effects, of course, do not surprise anyone; they are in many applications. But no music trimmer, even the most sophisticated one, can provide you with what SF can do. It's about a combination of effects that can be applied to the fragment one after another, each time getting more and more interesting results.
For convenience, all these effects in the corresponding menu are grouped by type, but transferring them from one group to another, or even creating your own groups, is not forbidden.
Sound cleaning
With the help of Sound Forge 10, you get the opportunity to drive audio recordings from film or even from vinyl records and get recordings in digital form, and after the process is completed, you can easily restore the resulting work.
An add-on called Noise reduction, specifically designed to perform these tasks, will remove noise, clicks, and scratch marks from the restored sound recording.
