As you know, to bypass the blocking of Internet resources and in order to remain unrecognized on the network, special proxies can be used that change the external IP addresses of computers. What are the different types of proxies for?
If we approach the issues related to the use of proxies in a general sense, for starters we should note a few typical situations that you may encounter.
First of all, you should clearly distinguish between the types of applications themselves. For example, it is much more convenient for system administrators to initially install a proxy server that can provide simultaneous access to the Internet from all terminals connected to a single local or virtual network without installing such client applets on each machine.
The advantage of such packages is also that the system administrator will be able to simply analyze the created connections, as well as outgoing and incoming traffic. In some cases, establishing a connection through a proxy server may be required, and an Internet connection will not work without using these parameters.
Ordinary users do not need such proxy programs, therefore, as the simplest applications, the appropriate clients that can search the Internet for active proxy servers, analyze their performance, connect to them and ultimately change the IP of individual computers are perfect.
The same applies to VPN clients. After all, their principles of operation are very similar to using anonymous proxies, only tunneling with traffic encryption is used for the connection (we will dwell on this a bit later).

First, consider software packages that are servers. Their list is not so great. The following are free proxies in Russian, which are the most popular and easiest to use:

Proxy or VPN: what to choose?
Finally, it is worth highlighting the question of which proxies for changing IP should be preferred to the average user, who, to put it mildly, is not versed in server settings.
It seems that you can use standard proxy clients or even access online resources. A good solution would be the Tor browser, which is initially an application to circumvent all sorts of restrictions. You can also install some simple VPN client.
But in the Opera web browser, such settings are provided initially. Simply activate this component, after which access to prohibited or blocked resources based on the territorial affiliation of the IP computer will be open.
But in the case of the presence in the system of other user applications that may at some point require access to some blocked resource (for example, to update hacked versions of programs), it is best to use the CyberGhost VPN applet. This will save you even having to add the addresses of some sites to the block list in the hosts file when the resource requests the user computer back.

As you can already understand from the foregoing, the choice of a proxy program is based solely on the purpose for which it will be used in a particular situation. And it’s not always advisable to install complex server applications (in most cases they are used for networks). For ordinary users, browser extensions, VPN clients, and even logging into certain sites through anonymous online proxy services are enough.
What exactly to choose is difficult to advise. However, VPN clients still look much more preferable than the Tor browser, which is not very fast. By the way, the same applies to the choice of applications for mobile devices. For many of them, you can find the corresponding versions.
