Google Chrome’s pop-up blocker , a great browser from Google, has been taken to the next level with the latest versions.
I note that Google Chrome is completely free, and available for download to everyone on the corporation's website. Interestingly, unlike competitors, this company decided not to distribute the application itself, but the installer, which already downloads the browser to the computer. Therefore, you cannot install Chrome on a PC that does not currently have an active Internet connection. On the other hand, why Chrome to someone who does not have a network? But since we are not discussing this browser itself, which is already well known to a huge number of people around the world, but blocking pop-ups in it, then it's time to return to the topic.
If this engineering genius product used to surprise experienced users with its reliability, security and speed, now Chrome has useful features that provide greater flexibility in managing the content that we want, or vice versa, when we visit pages on the network. In particular, a convenient pop-up blocker appeared, if earlier it was necessary to install programs like AdBlock and others, then now the ability to enable or disable blocking is available directly in the browser interface.
The developers of Chrome did not begin to reinvent the wheel in the interface of their brainchild and piled an almost standard settings tree, which you can easily and clearly get into. We select the “Parameters” item in the menu, a special tab with the settings will open. There you will find three large groups of submenus: “Basic”, “Personal materials” and “Advanced” (this group can be found on the left side of the settings tab).
Pop-up blocking from the program interface.
If the new version of Chrome notices a pop-up window on some site, then it is automatically blocked so that the browser screen is not obscured by windows that can annoy users. When this happens, a sign appears in the address bar indicating that the pop-up window from this site has been blocked.
If you click on it, everything that has been blocked will appear on the screen, there you can also configure pop-up content for this particular site.
How is pop-up blocking disabled for a particular site?
If you notice that a lock has worked on the page from which you are expecting a pop-up window, you should do a simple set of actions to disable it.
First, click on the icon indicating that the site displays pop-ups; in the interface that opens, click on the link of the blocked window that you want to allow. If you want such pages to never be blocked on this site, then you need to select the menu item "Always show pop-ups on this site: [address]". After that, the page will be registered in the browser exclusion list and pop-up blocking will not be used for it.
If you want to manually allow certain sites to open pop-ups, then you need to do the operations described below.
Click on the Wrench icon in the toolbar.
Then click on “Parameters”.
Select Advanced Settings.
Go to the "Personal Information" section and click on "Content Settings".
Once in the “Pop-ups” submenu, click on “Manage Exceptions”.
To completely allow all sites to run pop-ups, turn off blocking. To do this:
Select the Wrench icon, go to "Advanced Settings", select the "Personal Data" section there and click the Content Settings button. Here you will see the “Pop-ups” submenu, you just have to click the “Allow pop-ups for all sites” button. That's all.
