About this person is known only as much as he considers it necessary to tell about himself. Alexei Mikhailovsky is the producer of the most controversial show Dom-2, which went down in history as the longest and most successful, because its format was first sold to the American corporation SPTI for the first time in the existence of Russian television. For 12 years, he has remained behind the scenes of daily broadcast, most recently starting to comment on the events of the TV show and making his voice recognizable. Who is he and why is he considered the "brain" of the project?
Path to the show
Forty-seven-year-old producer Alexei Mikhailovsky, whose biography is closely connected with television, began his career more than 22 years ago. His interests included information broadcasts, as well as political PR. True, he ceased to engage in elections since 1999. He collaborated on the First with Alexander Lyubimov in the programs “Time” and “Here and Now”, then moved to NTV at the invitation of the main producer of the channel Sergey Shumakov. With his departure, his career ended. For a whole year he sat at home, finding no use for himself.
He received the proposal from the director of the project "Dom-2" to create a specific system for the show with joy. On twenty pages he described his concept, supported by the organizers, after which he set to work. From the first day, his wife Vasilina became a co-producer on the project, with whom they raised his son Maxim. Everything had to start from scratch: to look for land, create a perimeter, come up with the rules of its work. The project was launched on the night of May 5, although the eleventh appeared on the air. The creative team considers the first date as his birth. Fifteen participants, each of which will become mega-popular in the country, have stepped over the perimeter gates.
Long twelve years
Today, Alexei Mikhailovsky, "House-2" for which is part of his life, often answers hot questions about the reasons for the popularity of the show. In his answers, three points can be distinguished:
- The project is constantly changing, there are no strict rules governing its functioning. It allows participants not only to build relationships, but also to find ways of creative expression. There was a period when the participants were actively touring. The first concert was successful on December 6, 2005 at the Olimpiysky. Since 2009, the "Youth Train" has been operating, calling on the young generation to social activity. The guys donated blood, struggled with bad habits. Since 2006, various competitions have begun to be used, creating an atmosphere of competition.
- The project can be considered as a school of life, according to which everyone can verify their own decisions. Thanks to the openness of the participants, allowing themselves to show feelings and emotions on the air, people are able to revise their relations, understanding what is right and what is not in them.
- The project reveals the dynamics of development of the participants themselves, therefore, more and more former, appearing in a new quality are returning to the frontal. People who express dissatisfaction with a particular hero do not really agree with his actions and words, and, therefore, reflect and draw conclusions.
Aleksei Mikhailovsky cannot answer only one question - when will the television show close. He does not understand why this should be done if 35 million viewers watch it. A new site has been built, a second one is working in parallel - in the Seychelles, which allows you to check the relationship of existing couples. The project assets for 12 years are 7 born children, 16 weddings. The seventeenth can be considered the painting of Mikhailovsky himself.
Personal life
Four years on the project was Natalia Varvina, born in 1982, from the city of Volzhsky, who never built a relationship. Already in the perimeter, she graduated from high school in her native Volgograd. She could not build a relationship, but the charming blonde acquired real friends. Together with Elena Bushina and Alexandra Kharitonova, she sang in the trio of "The Witches of the Interns", felt somehow too confident on the project, and in May 2011 voluntarily left him. As it turned out, she went nowhere. First she appeared at the birthday party of Olga Buzova, accompanied by Alexei Mikhailovsky, and on June 2, 2013 she invited friends to a wedding with her already real husband. Aleksei Mikhailovsky and Natalya Varvina registered a relationship, as it turned out, a year ago, without advertising it.
Vasilina Mikhailovskaya after the divorce continued to work on the project until 2014, without commenting on the situation. Varvina, who was appointed the concert director, also got a job there. For a decade of the show, the ex-wife nevertheless left the TV set, explaining this fact by moral fatigue.

Statements by former members about the producer are diametrically opposite. May Abrikosov openly accused him of addiction to drugs, to which Alexei Mikhailovsky also persuaded participants. Alessandro Materazzo openly announced the direction of the plot, according to which everything was done to quarrel him with his future wife Svetlana Davydova. Tigran Salibekov left a caustic comment on the message about the marriage of Mikhailovsky with Natalia Varvina.
There are also rave reviews, the author of one of which is Alexandra Kharitonova, who believes that the producer played a significant role in her life. He made her more purposeful, helping in the realization of desires.
But they all agree on one thing - the project owes success to two people: the chief editor Alexander Rastorguev and producer Mikhailovsky, who are available 24 hours a day for participants via mobile communications, take an active part in their lives, providing real help and support. And the fact that the project is changing, raising ratings again and again, is a great merit of the producer, who has become a real “think tank” for him.
