Kazan International Airport was built back in the 30s within the city. In 1972, a project was approved on the construction of a new air hub of international importance. Construction was completed after 7 years, and the airport was commissioned. Then it had the name "Kazan-2", because it was located on a new territory - 26 km from the capital. And already in 1985, he was assigned the status of a first-class international airport.
The infrastructure and technical base of the airport were constantly improved, and the route network was steadily expanding. In 1986, it was renamed Kazan International Airport. A year later, the first international flight to Berlin was carried out on an aircraft Tu-154. During this period, service began flights international communications.
Currently, the airport is being modernized, which will continue until 2025. Within its framework, a new terminal 1A was built and commissioned.

26 kilometers in the south-east direction from the city is the international airport "Kazan". The location of the airport is Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Bus No. 97 runs to the airport. It leaves from the Novosavinovsky district, from the Sotsgorod stop. Ticket price is 39 rubles. Travel time from the first to the final stop will be approximately 1.5 hours. Buses between the city and the airport run from 5 am to 11 pm.
If you use a personal car, the route should be built through the Orenburg tract. It will be necessary to drive through the settlements Big and Small Kabany. You can park your car in the free car park located near the VIP terminal. Opposite terminals 1 and 1A, parking is paid.
