History
The predecessor of the 15th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade is the 76th Guards Rifle Berlin Red Banner Regiment of the Order of Kutuzov. This formation was created on the basis of the 75th Rifle Marine Brigade, formed at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War in Novokazalinsk (Kazakh SSR). This formation did not last long. In 1942, by order No. 78 of the Soviet NPO, the unit was awarded the name “Guards” and was reorganized into the 3rd Guards Brigade. It served as the basis for the formation of the 27th Guards Rifle Division. According to experts, for all military units formed as part of this unit, as well as for the division itself, they use the honorary title “Guards”, from their predecessor, the 3rd brigade. About combat use
From 1992 to 1997, Transdniestria, Abkhazia, and Tajikistan became places of activity of servicemen of the 15th Motorized Rifle Brigade.
