Installation of built-in appliances: advantages and disadvantages

In the modern world, installation of embedded equipment is no longer a rarity. Trying to give their home a touch of personality, expand space, optimize movement around home space, people increasingly began to β€œhide” household appliances in niches of furniture and walls. This design option is suitable not only for small apartments, but also fits perfectly into the interior of a country house, or even a summer house.

Description of the integrated kitchen

The set for the installation of built-in appliances for the kitchen is made only on order, according to the rented dimensions of the room, taking into account the peculiarities of the design, angles, outlet of water and sewer pipes. Additional fittings and equipment are purchased in accordance with the wishes and preferences of the customer. Unlike the standard set, the built-in furniture helps to expand the space and hide from prying eyes various kinds of equipment and unattractive outlet pipes.

Hob installation

Plate installation

Installation of built-in equipment is carried out using an electric jigsaw, with preliminary marking of exact dimensions. Sawed edges must be sealed. The panel is placed in the finished hole, pre-laying the sealing tape, usually it is included.

It is enough to connect the electric panel to a conventional outlet; the gas panel is connected to a natural gas source with a hose.

Washing machine and dishwasher

Built-in washing machine

They are installed under the countertop between the floor cabinets in the maximum proximity to the planned sink. Cars are connected to the power supply network, a water supply system and the sewerage. At the end of the work, facades are fastened, covering the equipment from prying eyes.

Ventilation system

Integrated hood

It is difficult to imagine a modern kitchen without a hood. It perfectly cleans the air from burning, protects furniture and walls from greasy plaque formed during cooking.

The equipment is installed in a special cabinet located directly above the stove. Only the suction filter and part of the control panel remain open. But there are models that are not visible at all, they are completely hidden in a niche of the hinged structure, where there is still a lot of space for storing small household items.

Hoods operating in recirculation mode require the replacement of carbon filters. If the type of exhaust device is suction, then it is necessary to bring the pipe into the central ventilation system using corrugations. Closer to the ceiling they have an electrical outlet.

Advantages and disadvantages

When the repair is completed, and the time has come to choose a kitchen design, it is necessary to evaluate all the advantages of installing built-in appliances in the kitchen:

  1. The built-in headset is ergonomic. During the manufacturing process, it is easy to foresee every little thing so that the furniture looks as harmonious as possible.
  2. The finished product, correctly designed for the overall design, will look attractive and individual.
  3. All components of the new kitchen can be selected at the manufacturing stage, what it will be in the final result - depends on the personal preferences of the customer.
  4. Due to the fact that the headset is made only to order, it is possible to choose absolutely any style: from the conservative classic to the extravagant high-tech or eclecticism.
  5. All products of a general design are fastened together by special ties, the use of which does not allow the appearance of gaps between the sections. This makes cleaning the kitchen as comfortable as possible.
Interior with integrated appliances

Despite the large number of advantages of installing integrated kitchen appliances, do not forget about the disadvantages of your favorite design:

  1. The price of a modern headset on order is much higher than the usual standard equipment.
  2. If the customer or contractor made a mistake at the planning stage, it will be practically impossible to swap elements.
  3. Dismantling the housing is difficult. Moreover, when moving, it will not be possible to install the finished construction in the new kitchen, as it has its own individual dimensions, which are unlikely to perfectly match the new ones.
  4. Repairing a failed built-in appliance or furniture cannot be done on its own, it requires special knowledge and skills, so you will have to contact a master or a seller.

Installing built-in appliances is simple at first glance, but if the dimensions are incorrect or the small features of the room are not taken into account, instead of a chic design, you can get a fairly large number of negative emotions and disappointments during operation. Therefore, it is best to turn to professional designers and craftsmen.
