Tunisia has eight airports - an impressive amount for a small country. But boards from abroad accept only three air harbors. This is the Enfida airport, which is located in the Sahel region, Habib Bourguiba in Monastir and Djerba Zarziziu on the resort island in Tunisia. And at Enfid there’s a wonderful tower for dispatchers. It is the third in the world in its height (after the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and the Roman Leonardo Da Vinci). And "Enfida" - the newest hub of Tunisia. It was built only in 2009, and from the moment of commissioning, they immediately began to expand. Four hundred million euros were spent on just one control tower 102 meters high. The area at this air gate of Tunisia is over four thousand hectares. The runway reaches a length of 3 km 300 m. The first side was taken in the winter of 2009. Charters from Russian cities began to land here in 2011.
Where is the Enfida Airport
When in the early 2000s the question arose of building the country's largest air harbor in the north-east of the country, it was decided to erect it at an equal distance from the main resorts of this region - Hammamet, Sousse and Cape Bon. The airport got its name from the nearby town of Enfida, from which it is separated by several kilometers. This hub is located next to the railway link between Monastir, Sousse and Hammamet. So all these resorts can be reached by train directly from the airport. The first train leaves already at 4:40. The intervals between trains are one and a half hours. Since Monastir has its own hub, which often takes passengers traveling to Sousse, Tunisia’s largest air gate is often called the “Hammamet-Enfid Airport”, although officially it has another name - International Airport Enfidha Ammame.
Services
This hub does not accept regular flights from Russia. Only during the tourist season charters from Moscow, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg land here. But with other cities in Europe, especially the UK, Germany and Denmark, the Enfida Airport in Tunisia is connected by numerous regular air services. The terminal serves passengers at the highest level. There are duty-free shops, ATMs, a first aid station and the like. But there are also quite exotic services. For example, the receptionist. Having laid out seventy extra dollars, you can enjoy peace in the lounge area until Primeclass CIP Service employees complete all the transfer procedures for you. By the way, tourists report that prices in airport shops are not so moderate, but even lower than in resorts. So you can stock up on all the necessary souvenirs before departure.
How to get to resorts from Enfida Airport Air Harbor
Not only trains run to Sousse. It is much more convenient to get to this resort by bus. The selection is quite large. These are routes No. 701, 824 and 601. A ticket to Sousse will cost you only two dollars. If you plan to move even further south, then you can take a taxi to Monastir. The trip will last about twenty minutes and cost fifteen dinars (about $ 12). Buses also head north. This is route number 106. The catch is that the first car leaves at 7:30 in the morning, and the last flight at 19:30. In addition, buses do not run on Saturday and Sunday. So either a train or a taxi remains an alternative to this type of transport. The latter are white, which implies their increased comfort. A trip along the Enfida-Hammamet Airport route will cost about twenty dollars, which is not so expensive.
