Burgas Airport is located in southeastern Bulgaria. It has an international IATA code - BOJ. Also known as "Sarafovo". History
Burgas Airport began its history in 1927. At this time, the French airline Kidna, which is currently part of Air France, signed a contract with the Bulgarian government. It stipulated the conditions for the construction of a radio station. Under the agreement, all employees of the new airport should be only Bulgarian citizens. Already in 1947, Balkan airlines began to operate domestic flights between Burgas, Sofia and Plovdiv. In the 50-60s the airport was significantly expanded and modernized, a concrete strip was also built. This "heavenly haven" received international status in 1970.
