Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theater was founded relatively recently. But at the same time his story is quite interesting. The troupe here is very large. The repertoire is based on classical works.
History
The Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theater has existed since 1931. Its leader was the actor and director L. A. Lazarev. Initially, it was a musical comedy theater. His repertoire included classical operettas, as well as modern musical comedy performances. The main task of the theater was to entertain the working people. The artists worked at a very high level. Thanks to this, the performances were very successful. In 1958, the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theater traveled with a creative report to Moscow. The audience and the musical community of the capital praised him. During these tours, composer T. Khrennikov made a proposal to reorganize the theater. He suggested making it musical, that is, in addition to operettas, it would also stage operas and ballets. In 1960, the reorganization took place. The first opera staged in the Voronezh musical theater was Eugene Onegin. The first ballet is Swan Lake. In 1968, the theater was renamed. He still bears this name. It is called the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theater.
