Theater History
Theresa Durova Theater was founded in 1991. Then its leader organized the International Clown Festival in Moscow. Artists wishing to take part in it, gathered more than 300, from different parts of Russia and from other countries. It was from the participants of this festival, when it ended, and the troupe of the repertoire theater of the clownery was assembled. The first performance took place in 1993. The clownery theater on Pavlovskaya street is located. Teresa Durova became its leader. She holds the position of director to this day. This wonderful woman is also the main director.
For a long time, Theresa Durova’s theater was the only repertoire and stationary collective working in the genre of clownery. The troupe's performances are intended not only for children, they are addressed to an adult audience. In 2010, the clownery theater changed its name, now it is called the “Theater on Serpukhovka”.
At the same time, the repertoire also changed, now its basis is musical performances. The performances are intended for children, adolescents, youth and an adult audience. Theresa Durova Theater actively participates in festivals of the all-Russian and international levels. The troupe regularly goes on tour.
"The Teatrium on Serpukhovka" holds children's art festivals. The most popular of them is called Gavrosh. It has been held since 2007. The festival is not only in competitive contests; master classes are held at it. Theresa Durova Theater is the author of several remarkable projects:

- “European Theater Experience for Children in Russia” (festival project).

The theater today has four venues:
- Large hall for 1039 seats.

The Theresa Durova Theater has been living since its foundation and is still under the direction of a representative of the old circus dynasty. Her grandfather was a clown and worked with animals, her mother was a famous tamer. Teresa Durova is the first of this famous family who left the arena and devoted his life to theatrical art.
In 1982, she received a director's education at GITIS. In 1991, she gathered a group of enthusiasts and organized a festival in Moscow, and then from its participants - clowns - created her own theater, which is now known not only in Russia but also far abroad.
The genre in which the troupe works is difficult to determine, since artists work at the junction of music, plastics, drama and circus. The actors of the theater are unique, they own acting and circus art. They are singers, and clowns, and jugglers, and illusionists, and dancers. The leader is a professional in his field. Teresa Durova in 2003 received the title of People's Artist of Russia. Awarded several prizes.
Troupe
The Teresa Durova Theater on Serpukhovka brought together more than forty talented actors. Four of them received the title of Honored Artist of Russia. These are Sergey Lobanov, Boris Ryvkin, Rafael Najaf-Zade, Maria Morozova.
