Unfortunately, not everyone can boast impeccable features and facial skin. In addition, age leaves its mark on the appearance of each of us. However, this does not mean that you should abandon the desire to have the perfect photo. You can achieve the desired result using retouching. To do this, first of all, you need to learn how to align your face in Photoshop.
Bringing youth back with Adobe Photoshop. Step 1
Suppose you have a digital photograph of a woman or a man of mature age. The goal is to make a face change by removing wrinkles and signs of withering of his skin. To achieve it, you must first create a foundation by blurring the original photo.
The face editor "Photoshop" and the following algorithm are used:
- the original digital image is duplicated by dragging it onto the icon of a new layer on the corresponding panel and assigning it a name, for example SB;
- choose a tool from the Filter section - Blur and Surface Blur (in the English version of Surfaceblur);
- adjust the degree of blur by moving the sliders, set the desired values for the "Radius" and "Threshold" parameters.
Step 2
The SB layer needs to be hidden under a mask (layermask). To do this, press and hold the Option / Alt key. At the same time, they click on the “Layer Mask” icon at the bottom of the corresponding panel. Further:
- they paint over the layer mask with white to cover those areas of the skin that need to be smoothed out, gently bypassing the eyes, lips, etc.
- to see if there are any gaps left, turn off the visibility of the background layer by clicking on the eye icon at the bottom of the corresponding panel.
Step 3. Correction
Often, after the above steps, colors and tones may look stained. To fix this state of things, create a new layer. To this end, hold down the Option / Alt key and click on the corresponding icon (newlayer).
Please note: in some versions of Adobe Photoshop, in order to change the face, you will have to select “Layer” - “New” - “Layer” from the menu.
In the opened New Layew window, check the box under the Name line. This means that you want to use the previous layer to create the clipping mask.
Further:
- using the Eyedropper tool, take a sample of colors from blurred skin;
- they select an instrument with the effect of a large soft brush and paint over their face with a very low degree of opacity in order to smooth out colors and tones.
In addition, for a correct change in the face, you will need to give the skin a natural look. To do this, select the blurred layer by clicking on its thumbnail, and move the opacity slider to the left.
Step 4. Remove wrinkles
To rid the person of micro-grooves on the skin, you should create 2 layers: “Darkening” (Burn) and “Lightening” (Dodge). As before, use the combination Option / Alt and click - create a new layer, which is automatically displayed at the bottom of the palette of layers. In some versions of the application for changing the face of Photoshop, you need to complete the sequence of actions "Layer - New - Layer".
Then set the mode "Soft Light" (SoftLight) and fill it with a neutral color (Neutral Color). As a result, the new layer is 50% grayed out.
Next, you need to save the mask and, using the Dodge tool, brighten wrinkles.
Step 5. Create a natural skin texture
For further work, you will need to get another new gray layer-overlap. First, click on the corresponding icon. Then:
- check the box next to “Use previous layer to create clipping mask”;
- select "Overlap" in the mode menu;
- fill with neutral color (50% gray).
Step 6. Add noise
This term, in relation to digital images, means a defect arising from imperfections in the camera. However, in a specific case, the imposition of noise allows you to give the retouched portrait a natural look. To implement it you need:
- select the Texture layer in the Overlap mode;
- go to the "Noise" filter;
- perform "filter - noise - add noise";
- having marked the fields “Uniform” and “Monochrome”, add so much noise so that the picture looks like a frame of a three-dimensional film.
Typically, the result of these actions is excessively clear, so it makes sense to reduce the sharpness of the changes.
The ideal value of this filter depends on the size and resolution of the file. In fact, there are no strict rules that apply to all images. Rely on your own, and sometimes do a test print to appreciate subtle effects like noise.
Step 7. Embossing
To achieve a result close to ideal, you can imitate real skin. To do this, go to the “Embossing” filter in the “Stylization” section.
If it turned out unnaturally, then you can:
- select "Editing";
- use the weaken embossing tool.
Step 8. Finish Retouching
Finishing work on changing the face by retouching should be done by slightly reducing the opacity of the blurry layer by about 70%. As a rule, if all of the above actions are performed correctly, a very good result is obtained.
Changing the shape of the face in Photoshop
Many women complex due to a double chin. This or any other defect in the shape of the face in photos can be changed using Photoshop.
This is done very simply. Necessary:
- open a photo of a person who is going to correct;
- select the “Stamp” tool, capable of copying and moving any object to where it is necessary;
- find and activate a brush with minimal rigidity in the settings panel;
- copy a fragment of the photo next to the face;
- insert it with the “Stamp” tool at the same latitude, stepping back a few millimeters towards the center of physiognomy.
The last action is performed by pressing the left mouse button while holding down the Alt key.
By the method described above, you can only correct one point on the oval of the face, and the entire contour is corrected by "processing" the entire side of the face, holding the left mouse button pressed. They do the same from the other side.
If you want to correct only the chin, then you need to copy the area under it, slightly move the mouse up and paste the fragment into place.
How to remove face shine in Photoshop. Method one
In real life, traces of fat on the skin are cleaned with wet wipes and dusting. But what to do when a greasy shine spoils a photo? It turns out that Photoshop helps to remove such a defect in two ways. The first uses blending mode. For this:
- open a photo in need of processing;
- open a list of overlay options;
- select "Dimming", previously unlocking the layer (disable the lock icon);
- activate the Eyedropper tool;
- make a click on that area of the skin where there is no oily sheen;
- select the Brush tool;
- they set the “Opacity” parameter to 30%, “Pressure” to 50%, and the hardness to 0;
- paint over the oily areas of the face with this brush, changing the size of the brush where necessary.
Second way
Today, there are many programs for changing faces. However, Photoshop can replace them all, as it provides the user with a huge number of useful tools. For example, you can remove oily sheen with the help of “Patch”. For this:
- select the Patch tool;
- highlight with it some shiny area;
- dragging the selected area by holding the left button of the computer mouse onto a non-shiny area of the skin;
- do the same with the rest of the area that needs to be adjusted.
Complexion correction
If you need a face-changing program, then it's hard to find something better than Photoshop. In particular, it will help correct skin color. The procedure is as follows:
- open the image in Photoshop;
- copy the photo (Ctrl + J):
- create a new adjustment layer;
- carry out selective color correction by clicking on the icon in the form of a half-filled circle;
- in the window "Selective color correction" select red and reduce the rate of blue;
- add a purple tint so that the skin becomes slightly reddish;
- add black for brightness;
- adjust the color values in the yellow tab in the same way.
After applying the face editor "Photoshop" according to the algorithm described above, a healthy color of the face is obtained. However, the hair and background acquire a reddish tint.
You can return them to their original color with a black brush. She needs to draw those areas where you want to remove the red color, namely, hair and background. In this case, you need to stay on the layer mask. Further:
- create a new adjustment layer, which can be named "Levels";
- To remove the brightness of the face, move the right slider on the bottom toolbar to the left.
It remains to carry out eye color correction through the application for changing faces "Photoshop".
To this end, create a new layer "Color balance" and add blue.
- invert the layer mask using the combination Ctrl + I;
- with a white brush I draw the iris of the first one, and then the second eye;
- create a new adjustment layer and darken the image;
- invert the mask and draw a background with a brush;
- load the texture onto the image by executing a sequence of commands “File” - “Place”;
- select a texture from the corresponding folder and stretch it to the whole photo using the transformation frame;
- double click inside the frame;
- add a mask to the layer and invert it to black;
- take a white brush and draw a background;
- take a photo of all layers using the combination of buttons Ctrl + Shift + Alt + E;
- apply the filter "Plastic.
