LA Noire is a project from the Rockstar company in the genre of interactive detective and third-person action in the open world. The developers went on an experiment and stepped aside from the usual GTA concept - explosions, chases, mindless killings. Investigations, realistic interrogations, and the chic atmosphere of the US post-war era are now coming to the fore. What is the game about?
If you are going to find out the technical requirements, then first read the brief description.
You have to play for the detective Cole Phelps, who has just returned from the war and is trying to arrange his life. During the passage, you investigate various crimes, which eventually add up to one big picture. The gameplay component is divided into two parts - interrogations and everything else. In the first, you will have to ask the characters questions and, depending on the reaction (emotions, facial expressions, actions, intonation), develop a theme or draw conclusions about the character. The rest is almost GTA. You drive around the city in free mode, perform additional tasks. But with one condition: you are a servant of the law, so unrest and free skirmishes are not encouraged by the game.
The storyline is divided into acts, in each of which the main character works in different police departments. Because of this, the direction of the cases under investigation is changing. All gameplay goes like this. You get a task from the authorities, go to the crime scene, listening to the dialogue of the hero with a partner, looking for evidence, interviewing suspects, catching a criminal or imprisoning an innocent person.
In the second half of the game, they suggest observing events on behalf of another character - a former colleague of Cole Phelps.
The technical part of the game
The development of the action took quite a while, so the technical parameters of the game were constantly changing for the better. If gamers with consoles did not care about the system requirements of LA Noire at all, then players on personal computers were interested in this issue. The creators used a unique technology for capturing the face of a real person. The emotions and actions of the actor were digitized and transferred already into the game. Also in the project there is a completely open city with freedom of action. Despite such a complicated implementation, this game runs smoothly on any computer with an average configuration. Even at the time of release, LA Noire’s minimum and recommended system requirements were very sparing compared to other AAA projects.
Minimum configuration
To play LA Noire at low graphics quality settings, you will need the following computer configuration:
- 2-core Intel processor or AMD processor with a frequency of at least 2.2 GHz.
- Nvidia or Radeon graphics card with 512MB of video memory on board.
- At least 2 GB of RAM.
- 16 GB of hard disk space for installation.
- Sound card with DirectX 9 support.
In this case, you can safely play LA Noire at low graphics settings. By the way, visually the game changes little, even if you set the image quality to the highest. Basically, all the changes relate to shadows, the range of drawing the city and objects, etc.
Recommended Configuration

Reissue
In 2017, the company released a reprint of the original LA Noire. The project was released, unfortunately, only on new generation consoles - PlayStation 4 and XBOX One. To personal computers, according to the developers, the reissue will not get. Therefore, the system requirements of LA Noire for the new version did not appear on the network.
VR version
If the reissue bypassed personal computers, then the version for helmets of virtual reality visited this gaming platform. It can be purchased at the Steam official store. In addition to the fact that you need the HTC Vive helmet for it, the LA Noire system requirements for PC have also risen. For minimal settings, you will need the following configuration:

The computer game LA Noire "lives" to this day, despite its age. 7 years have passed since 2011, but reprints and updated versions are still available. And the project for virtual reality revitalized the game and the community even more, as it offers a completely new experience and immersion in the world of first-person investigations.
