Airports of Crimea. Useful information for travelers

Back in Soviet times, Crimea was a favorite vacation spot for the inhabitants of our vast country. However, it remains so today. And there is a logical explanation for this. The Crimean peninsula is not only one of the most picturesque corners on our planet, but also a health resort known throughout the world. That is why thousands of tourists flock here, and Russians are also among them. At the same time, I want to get to my destination quickly and comfortably, and many prefer to travel to Crimea by plane.

Airports of Crimea

However, not everyone knows which airports of Crimea accept liners from Russia. In order to broaden the horizons of Russian travelers, we will consider the question of what general airports are available on the above peninsula.

It should be noted that every year Crimean airports serve more than thirty thousand passengers who prefer to travel by plane. There are three airports on the peninsula. She is in Simferopol, Sevastopol and Kerch. Many people are primarily interested in the question of where in the Crimea there is an airport that accepts foreign flights. It is located in the city of Simferopol.

This international airport terminal was built in 1936. Relatively recently, information appeared in the press that Ukrainian officials intend to build another airport terminal of international importance in the Yevpatoria zone and, at the same time, modernize the facility located in Kerch in order to give it the above status. How quickly these projects will be implemented is not known.

Where is the airport in crimea

Despite the fact that the airports of Crimea are represented by three large facilities, there is only one status of an international air traffic reception center. It, as already emphasized, is located in Simferopol. From here, airliners depart for the largest foreign cities: Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt - on-Main, Warsaw, Tashkent, Yerevan, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk.

This airport terminal consists of several small buildings, namely: an arrival terminal, terminals for domestic and international flights, and a diplomatic business hall.

The airport in Kerch is located in the northwestern part of the city. The area of โ€‹โ€‹the object is 320 hectares, it began to function in 1944. In Soviet times, air connections were made from such large cities as Krasnodar, Moscow, Kiev, Simferopol. More recently, the airport was declared bankrupt.

What airports are in Crimea

It should be noted that on the peninsula there is, in addition to the Simferopol airport, another object of international importance - the Belbek airport, but it was originally conceived as a building for the deployment of military aircraft. It is located in the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol, directly on the sea coast. It was built in 1941. In the first half of the 90s, civilian air transport began to be carried out here, including international ones. In the period from 2002 to 2007, passengers were no longer transported via Belbek, and only three years later, the transportation of people resumed again. Currently, the terminal serves flights to Kiev and Moscow.

Many tourists are sure that the airports of Crimea offer plane tickets at an unreasonably high price compared to those sold at the box office of railway stations. However, the latest statistics indicate that the management of Russian Railways has increased the fare. In particular, the price of a flight on the route Moscow - Simferopol will not differ significantly from the cost of a ticket in a compartment car. However, the difference in speed is significant: a few hours of flight can not be compared with twenty-eight hours or more by train.

It should be noted that the question of which airports are in the Crimea is relevant not only for vacationers, but also for those who come to Ukraine for business purposes. To save time, entrepreneurs and businessmen simply must know which routes are optimal and which airport will be most convenient to use, since everyone knows the postulate โ€œtime is moneyโ€.
