Alexander Spesivtsev: biography, personal life, crimes, photos

The story of the maniac Alexander Spesivtsev, who raped, tortured, killed and ate women and children from 1991 to 1996, shocked all of Russia at one time. His crimes were unbearably cruel. At the same time, relatives helped the cannibal: Spesivtsev’s mother lured the little girls into the apartment and helped hide the remains.

Childhood injuries

Alexander Spesivtsev was born in 1970 in Novokuznetsk, where he subsequently committed his terrible crimes. He had a weight deficit due to prematurity; in childhood, the future maniac was often sick. Until the age of twelve, he slept in the same bed with his mother. At school, the unsociable Alexander had no friends. He was offended by peers with whom the boy wanted to someday cruelly take revenge.

Lyudmila Yakovlevna Spesivtseva, after being dismissed from school as a school attendant for theft, got a job as a lawyer assistant in court. Volumes of cases and photos from the crime scene fell into her hands. These pictures were very popular with Alexander. According to her mother, she did not even think that photographs could affect her son like that.

Later, the teenager was sent for treatment to a psychiatric hospital.

First victim

When Alexander Spesivtsev was released from a psychiatric hospital, he met the girl Zhenya. For some time the young people met, but once they quarreled. Alexander beat the girl and did not let her out of the apartment for a month. The neighbors did not notice anything, because the Spesivtsevs were always very reserved and never received guests.

The doctors could not establish the cause of the death of Eugenia. It is believed that she died from blood poisoning. In any case, Spesivtsev tortured and beat the girl in every possible way. The body was covered with ulcers and purulent abscesses. E. Guselnikova was the first victim of a maniac, who was again sent for treatment.

Three years later, with signs of sustained remission, the maniac Alexander Spesivtsev was discharged from the hospital, but no entries in the medical record and documentation about this were made. So, the police believed that a mentally unstable person is still in a psychiatric hospital.

Other crimes

The next victim of Alexander Spesivtsev was the youngest Lyudmila. The maniac dismembered the girl’s corpse in an effort to hide the traces of the crime, and her mother buried the remains in the wasteland.

The last three victims of the maniac Lyudmila Yakovlevna Spesivtseva lured into the apartment herself. Then law enforcement agencies have already discovered the remains of other victims of the maniac. There are only four proven killings on his account, but according to some reports, the number of victims exceeds eighty people.

The three girls whom Spesivtsev’s mother lured into the apartment did not immediately kill the maniac. He forced the fourteen-year-old Olya to dismember the corpses of her friends and eat a soup with them made from their remains. The bones of girls in front of Olya were nibbled by a Spesivtsev's dog.

Investigation progress

The investigation into Spesivtsev’s crimes began long before law enforcement agencies received his image-capture. In Novokuznetsk in 1996, parts of children's bodies and skulls were found in the river. Two days later, several more bodies were found nearby. According to the remains, experts found that at least six girls and three boys between the ages of nine and fourteen were killed.

The task force began to study several versions. Such a thorough dismemberment of bodies could not be carried out on the street. Forensic experts have come to this conclusion. Children were killed and dismembered in the room, and then parts of the body were dumped into the river. The ripper worked quite professionally with a knife and a saw.

Assumptions

The hunter chose the victims from dysfunctional families. Their number has increased in recent years. Especially when a metallurgical plant practically stopped in the city, which gave work to many citizens. According to police, more than a hundred children were missing in the city.

Police officers, internal troops and members of the local garrison were involved in the investigation. Dysfunctional families, persons with mental disabilities and sexual anomalies were tested. Housing estates and forest plantations were examined. Children continued to fade.

Two weeks after the terrifying finds, two more girls disappeared. Law enforcement officers checked city discos, youth cafes and bars. The police officer, who investigated the routes of several victims, concluded that the maniac has a car. Girls could get into the environment of drug addicts, so the city conducted a large-scale operation to identify dens. But no one recognized the girls.

At this time, newspapers published awesome articles about a monster that kidnaps and kills children. There was an opinion that this is a mutant man who was born in a city with a disastrous ecology. Among the local population, a real panic began. They accused the police of inaction. She was not idle, but the abductions of children became widespread.

The members of the operative-search group worked out several versions: a lone maniac, abduction for the purpose of ransom or transplantation of internal organs. In Novokuznetsk, all hospitals and morgues were taken under tacit control, the characteristics of surgeons and pathologists were studied. Operational events were held at Moscow airports.

investigation in the case of spesivtsev

Not a single evidence was ever found. Until now, nothing was known about the criminal. The investigator, studying the lists of missing children, drew attention to one pattern. Most often, the names Elena and Olga came across in the lists. Then it was suggested that the maniac had already been convicted of raping minors with such names, so now he chose similar victims. In the course of studying the archives, only two people were found whose victims were both Elena and Olga. One lived in the Stavropol Territory, the other after serving his sentence left for Tatarstan.

The investigator suggested a closer look at repeat offenders in Novokuznetsk itself. After a thorough study of personal files, the police settled on a former driver, who now became a butcher in the market. After checking, they unexpectedly discovered that he had already been detained during the investigation, but was released. The butcher was monitored. One morning, he went not to the market, but in the opposite direction.

The police lost the suspect, but in the evening his neighbors called the department and said that a pool of blood had flowed out from under the door of the butcher’s room and the smell of rotting flesh was distinctly felt. Arriving operatives discovered that there was no one in the room. On the floor was a bag of rotten pork. A few hours later, the owner himself was found. It turned out that he had an accident and was in the hospital. The investigation has come to a standstill.

Maniac Detention

It was possible to catch the maniac by chance. A team of technicians knocked on the maniac’s apartment for prevention before the start of the winter heating season. He refused to let the utility workers in, citing the fact that he could not get out because of a mental disorder.

Alexander Spesivtsev

Plumbers, who knew that a maniac had appeared in the city, called a district policeman who cracked the door. When the station received a message that ā€œsome moron from the 357th at Pionerskaya 53,ā€ didn’t let them into the apartment to check the heating system, the investigator immediately ordered to contact the psychiatric hospital in Orel and find out if Alexander Spesivtsev was really now undergoing a course of compulsory treatment. The hospital reported that the patient had already been discharged from the institution for two years.

The district police officer from the police stronghold on Pionerskaya Street has already set off on a call. The investigator ordered him to be returned immediately, because it is very dangerous. Immediately an operational group left for Pionerskaya. They did not have time to return the precinct. He was already standing on the landing, trying to get into the apartment.

In the bathroom, law enforcement officers found the torso of a girl with severed arms and legs, and her head was removed from the tank. Spesivtsev himself fled along the roof, but two days later he was arrested at his own entrance. The half-dead girl Olya was hospitalized with an open wound on her stomach and a broken arm.

Olya gave detailed testimony, but died in the hospital. She said that Andrei (that’s how the maniac introduced himself to the girls) beat them, broke his girlfriend’s head, and several times he sewed them in his own hands with ordinary threads and a needle. All this time, his mother and sister were in the apartment.

Interrogation of Spesivtsev

During interrogation, Alexander Spesivtsev spoke about the murder of his girlfriend, Evgenia. After returning from a psychiatric hospital, he wanted to avenge all the bullying that he had to endure there. In addition, he was greatly annoyed by non-healing penile inflammation. He claimed that a roommate had his own hand sewn a pellet into his penis at the request of Alexander himself.

Alexander Spesivtsev searches

Spesivtsev liked to be at the station, communicate with the homeless. There, he met one of the victims, Elena, whom he told law enforcement agencies. The man spoke about several more victims: girls and children.

Why did the maniac look for law enforcement for so long? According to the documents, he was treated in a mental hospital, but actually committed his terrible crimes. Bureaucratic error cost at least twenty human lives.

Trial

In 1997, Alexander Spesivtsev was sentenced to ten years in prison for the murder of three girls. He was recognized sane. A year later, consideration of a new case began. This time during the investigative measures, Spesivtsev was declared insane. The killer was forcibly sent for treatment to a psychiatric clinic.

Where is the maniac now

Where is Alexander Spesivtsev now? What happened to the maniac? Information appeared in the media that Alexander Spesivtsev left the psychiatric clinic and may again begin to commit crimes, but this is only a duck. As of 2018, the offender is being treated in a special type of mental hospital in the Volgograd region.

According to the deputy chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Novokuznetsk, in case of recovery, the maniac would face a significant period of time on those episodes where he was recognized as responsible during the forensic examination. Alexander Spesivtsev would not have been free for several hours if the doctors had recognized him as healthy.

Lyudmila Spesivtseva

The mother of Alexander Spesivtsev admitted that she brought the victims to her son, and then threw the remains. The prosecution insisted on fifteen years in prison, and the lawyer Lyudmila Yakovlevna asked to fully acquit the woman. Spesivtseva herself did not admit her guilt.

The court sentenced the woman to thirteen years in prison. In 2008, she was released. In 2013, she intended to return to her old apartment along Pionerskaya Street with her daughter, but now lives in one of the districts of the Kemerovo Region.
