Choosing the right piano chair is extremely important. After all, not only how much the musician will feel comfortable during classes, but also the correct posture depends on this. Particular care should be taken when choosing a chair or banquets for a child.
Nowadays, in stores you can see many options for every taste. What could be a piano chair?
- Specialized adjustable bench.
- A special round chair with a mechanism that allows it to rotate.
- Rectangular four-legged upholstered bench.
- Folding piano chair .
- Exclusive wooden chair.
- A bench with a height adjustment mechanism and a separate drawer in which notes can be stored.
- A bench or bench on two rectangular legs, which allows you to adjust the height of the seat.
- Stools and more.
Of course, if you pick up a chair for the piano on which the child will sit, it is better to immediately stop on the model, which can be adjusted in height. After all, the baby will grow, and therefore on a chair too high, it will simply be uncomfortable to sit over time. If it is assumed that only adult musicians will use the instrument, it is best to purchase a massive banquette made of wood or leather - they look very solid, in addition, they are distinguished by their strength and durability.
As for folding models, they are more suitable for those who, for example, participate in some group and often perform in different places, and the instrument (most often this is an electronic piano) and all other accessories are forced to carry.
The classic version, which can be seen in almost all music schools, is a piano chair rotating. For beginners, this is a very convenient option, because such models give greater freedom of movement.
Regardless of what you choose in the end, before buying, check whether you can sit in your new chair correctly and if you feel uncomfortable. There are several criteria that will help you make sure that you are not mistaken with a purchase:
- when you sit on the edge of the chair, your back remains in a straight position, the hands are located just above the keys of the instrument, and the elbows are in a slightly bent state;
- legs stand firmly on a special stand or on the floor, next to the piano pedals;
- regardless of the growth of the musician, his legs should be at right angles, and the chair itself should in no case be staggered.

It is important to choose not only a suitable model, but also a reliable manufacturer. Unfortunately, the modern market is awash with cheap but low-quality goods, and furniture is no exception. Before making a purchase, check how securely all the elements are attached, whether the chair can be dismantled if necessary, whether the mechanism for adjusting the height works well (the last point is especially important if you buy a screw chair for a piano). Do not hesitate to try the furniture: evaluate how comfortable it is for you to sit in different positions, is it possible to maintain the correct posture, whether your movements are constrained. If everything is in order, the matter remains small - buy the selected chair and enjoy playing your favorite instrument in comfortable conditions!
