In the age of the progressive fight against piracy, the issues of protecting mobile consoles are an edge. Many manufacturers want to protect their products from illegal copying and use. Sony incurs losses due to the fact that it’s simple enough to take and flash the PSP so that all (even the most secure) games can be launched without paying a single penny.
Such opportunities are used by pirates and users. There are specialized exchangers where community members share game files, emulators with each other, so that you can run classics of the genre from other consoles, as well as directly with firmware. Surprisingly, no matter how developers complicate the code, trying to close the vulnerabilities, they even manage to flash the PSP 3008, which, according to the manufacturer, should have been as resistant to illegal use as possible. The only thing that users have not been able to do so far is to circumvent the protection of the latest version of the software installed on the console. But, judging by past experience, this is only a matter of time.

In the past, it was enough to flash the PSP once, and you could use it for as long as you like. This provided profit and the existence of many semi-basement services, where such an operation was performed for several thousand rubles. Now the situation has changed dramatically, as the new methods of protection installed on the console completely changed the classical approaches to hacking it. Now it’s become impossible to establish a permanent hack.
Despite this, it is still possible to flash PSP, only hacked software will not be installed on a permanent basis, but stored in the device’s memory. This imposes certain restrictions, for example, you can’t let the console completely discharge or remove the battery, as this will immediately lead to the rally of the pirated program and the restoration of the licensed platform. But if you use it carefully, avoiding discharging or accidental shutdown, then such a hack will be no worse than any other.
Since
it’s now easier to
flash the PSP on your own, now you don’t have to go anywhere and pay money to unknown services, and this is a definite plus, because everything can be done in a few simple steps:
- It is necessary to backup all the necessary files, settings and saves from the memory card. Then you need to format it by going to "Settings", then "System Settings", selecting "Format memory card", agree with the warning that appears.
- To completely de-energize the console. To do this, remove and insert the battery back. Then you should start by holding simultaneously the Select, Start, square and triangle buttons. This allows you to reset all settings, avoiding possible problems in the future.
- Then you need to download the firmware file from any site and install it in the root of the memory card, the GAME folder. The resulting file remains just to run, like any game.
This is how you can easily flash PSP and enjoy the work of all applications without the need to pay.
