Sliding wardrobe is today the most popular piece of furniture. This model of furniture turned out to be functional, beautiful and suitable for the widest use. As a storage location, the wardrobe is used in residential, office and even industrial interiors. Sliding doors can sometimes serve as interior partitions. The very filling of the structure is used as a small, but roomy wardrobe room.
Wardrobe Mirrors
Modern housing is impossible to imagine without places and storage systems. A mirrored wardrobe is installed most often.
This is the most practical element of the interior, which at the same time brings elegance to the environment. Thanks to mirrored doors, the space becomes lighter, wider.
Such models of cabinets are acceptable even in children's rooms, since glass and mirror elements of such furniture are made of especially durable materials. A big plus - it makes no sense to hang an additional mirror on the wall. If you do not need a huge sparkling surface in the room, it is more convenient to purchase a three-door wardrobe with a mirror in the middle.
The doors to these storage systems can be fixed in two ways:
- Directly to the cabinet itself. Guides are fixed below and above. The door leaf moves along the lower rail, and the upper only supports it.
- Directly to the ceiling and to the floor. This is a built-in wardrobe. To use the furniture was convenient, the width of the wings is no more than one meter.
If suddenly force majeure
It happens that the mirrored cabinet door is damaged. Then you need to disassemble the frame of the facade.
Usually it is made of aluminum and fixed with four screws from the ends of the doors, covering with a dust brush. The steel frame is held by four roller devices, which are located inside the door.
To independently replace the mirrors in the sliding wardrobes, a screwdriver and a screwdriver are enough. First of all, you have to remove the door.
The stopper is disconnected, and only then the blade must be removed and positioned horizontally. Now you can start repairing the part.

Using sandpaper, they process the edge of the ruler, sharpening it. Very carefully place the tool in the gap between the mirror and the frame.
Carefully deepen the ruler into the slot by tapping with a hammer. There should be smooth, soft movements.
Important! In order not to split the mirror during dismantling, do not press hard on the ruler, raising the sharpened edge. Instead of a ruler, a sharp screwdriver is still used.
Safety regulations
Removing an old or damaged surface of a mirrored sliding wardrobe is quite dangerous. To perform this work, it is better to contact a professional company.
If you had to change the mirror yourself, do not forget about your own safety:
- pick up clothes that cover the body and hands;
- protect your eyes with tight-fitting glasses;
- work outdoors;
- exclude the appearance of nearby children;
- When dismantling the room, thoroughly clean it after work.
Attachment Methods
To install a new mirror, you can use:
- Double sided tape. If the room is wet or cold, the method is not suitable. At temperatures below ten degrees Celsius, the mirror will fall off. Scotch tape also does not tolerate high heat. This is not a very reliable way to mount mirrors in wardrobes.
- Liquid Nails. It smells harsh. Sometimes it can destroy the amalgam. The glue should be suitable for mirror surfaces.
- Building silicone. The most optimal option. No side effects. Glue, placing the composition in discontinuous strips along the contour of the mirror.
- Crimp profile. The mirror is clamped around the edge, and it becomes part of the door leaf. Professionals recommend as a reliable method.
- Mechanical fastening. Fastening is carried out with thin screws, screwing plastic stops and metal clamps.
Features of mechanical fasteners
The mirror is mounted on a door previously removed from the hinges and laid horizontally. If metal paws are used, first check their height. They should ensure a snug fit of the mirror to the furniture. If necessary, apply pads. It remains to screw on the clamps according to the marking, insert the mirror and fix it with paws. Done!
Replacing mirrors in wardrobes is a rather time-consuming and rather dangerous process. If you follow the safety rules and do not rush, everything will work out.
