Theater "Satyricon": repertoire, troupe, director

The Satyricon Theater began its life just before the Great Patriotic War. The repertoire of the theater includes both classical plays and works by contemporary authors. The troupe has wonderful actors. The artistic director of the theater is Konstantin Raikin.

Theater History

The Satyricon Theater was founded by the father of the current artistic director - Arkady Raikin. The opening of the first season took place in 1939 in St. Petersburg. Then it was called the Leningrad Theater of Variety and Miniatures. Soon the war began. Artists from 1941 to 1945 traveled to the forefront with concerts. After the war, the troupe toured the country. In the late 50s, artists carried their performances abroad. In 1981, the troupe was replenished with young artists, among them the son of Arkady Raikin - Konstantin. A year later, the theater moved to Moscow and received the building where the Tajikistan cinema was located. The room was reconstructed and refitted. Since 1987, the name appeared on the poster - the Satyricon Theater. The renaming was initiated by Arkady Raikin. This name was chosen because it reflected the essence of the theater - it was a world of satire and humor. In the same year, the reconstruction of the building was completed in the summer, and Satyricon presented to the public its first performance. And in winter Arkady Raikin died. His son Konstantin replaces him. The repertoire of the theater is changing - there is a transition from short satirical miniatures to drama. In 1992, the name changed again, now it sounds like this: Russian State Theater "Satyricon" named after A. Raikin.

The Satyricon Theater lives under the strict guidance of Konstantin Arkadyevich Raikin. He was born in 1950. Received acting education at the Higher Theater School named after B.V. Schukin. Prize winner: “Idol”, “Seagull”, “Triumph”, “Crystal Turandot”, “Golden Mask” and so on. Konstantin Arkadevich was awarded the title People's Artist of Russia. For over 40 years, K. Raikin has been serving theatrical art. Famous for his movie roles:
