Internet Explorer is one of the leading software products in the market of Internet browsers. The browser is famous for its accuracy in processing web-sites, working with equipment connected to a computer, connecting additional modules that expand the browsing capabilities of Internet pages, etc. And the settings that are responsible for the entire program are located in the menu "Tools" - "Internet Options", which we will talk about.
Open browser properties
In order to get into the settings we need, you should find the inscription “Service” in the upper area of the program window, clicking on which you can see the line “Internet Options”. If nothing is displayed at the top of the application window, press the "Alt" key, and labels will appear.
To get to the menu without using the mouse, you can use the special keys (here is the instruction for the Russian-language browser): switch to entering Russian characters, press "Alt", then "E" and "Y" - the browser properties are open. In addition, by pressing the Alt key, the menu can be accessed using the keyboard arrows.
Finally, by going to the control panel, you can also find the link “Internet Options”. Going through it to the settings is as easy as shelling pears.
Tabs in the Internet Options Menu
After the menu has been entered, the very first tab will appear - “General”. Here you can specify the home page; exercise control over temporary files (Cookies) - delete, configure them; View the page visit log change standard fonts, colors, languages, design: in a word, change how the Internet Explorer will display the contents of various web sites.
"Security" - the name is clear why the tab is created. Here you can impose restrictions on the functionality of some pages (limited sites) or enable them (reliable sites); perform various manipulations on setting up JavaScript, Flash scripts, downloading files, displaying a component, etc.
By going to "Confidentiality", you can set the level of confidentiality for a particular Internet site using the slider; put a ban on or allow pop-ups on all or specific sites.
Content is a pretty interesting tab. And the ability to restrict access to certain resources is the most useful feature in this menu and in general in the entire browser as a whole. Here it is possible to limit the display of certain information (for example, scenes of violence, profanity); prohibit or allow the opening of pages; set a password to open the browser. Also in the “Content” tab, you can manage certificates and autocomplete forms (for example, logins and passwords from some sites).
The “Connection” tab is designed to manage network connections, as well as to configure proxy servers.
“Programs” is a tab created for the entire system as a whole. Here you can assign programs that will be used for one purpose or another (for example, to send mail, receive news, etc.).
In the “Advanced” tab, you can make fine-tuning security, multimedia, page browsing, etc., allowing or disabling some functions.
So, we can say that the menu “Internet Options” is easy to configure even for novice users, but for experienced users it opens up many convenient features.
