1st method. The generally accepted calculation formula: a girl’s height minus a fixed number of 110. This formula has one drawback - the person’s age is not taken into account. The above formula without amendments may be applicable to the female half of humanity in the age range from 40 to 50 years. However, for girls, the difference must be adjusted by 10%. For example, with a girl’s height of 1.63 m, the ideal weight is (163-110) * 0.9 = 48 kg.

2nd method. According to the formula of American scientists, the ideal weight is calculated: 150 is subtracted from the growth data, the result is multiplied by 0.75 and 50 is added to the result.

For example, with a growth of 1.63 m, the girl's ideal weight is - (163-150) * 0.75 + 50 = 60 kg.

3rd method. The formula used in this calculation is named after Lorentz. The ideal weight equals the difference between growth reduced by 100 and multiplying the coefficient 0.25 by the difference in growth and a constant value of 150.

Example. If the girl’s height is 1.63 m, then the ideal weight is (163-100) - 0.25 * (163-150) = 60 kg.

4th method. For this method, the ideal weight is determined using the Katlet formula, according to which the index is calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by height squared. Weight is considered normal if the index is in the range from 18 to 25, if above 25 - excess, and below 18 - the girl has a fairly low body weight.

For example, with a girl’s height of 1.63 m and a weight of 60 kg, the body mass index is 60 / (1.63 * 1.63) = 22.58. Since the value of the indicator is in the range, we can conclude that the girl’s weight is normal.

Using this index, you can calculate the boundary weight norms for any girl. To determine the lower limit, 18 is multiplied by the height squared calculated in meters, and to calculate the upper limit, 25 is also multiplied by the height squared.

For example, with a girl growing 1.63 m, the lower limit is 18 * 1.63 * 1.63 = 48 kg, and the upper limit is 25 * 1.63 * 1.63 = 66 kg.

5th method. In calculating the ideal weight according to this formula, another additional parameter is used - breast volume. Example. If the girl’s height is 1.63 m and her breast volume is 90 cm, then the ideal weight parameter should be 163 * 90/240 = 61 kg.

The 6th method shows how much a girl should weigh, and is represented by a fairly simple formula proposed by Paul Bock, a doctor from France, a long time ago. From growth, expressed in centimeters, 100 is deducted and get the ideal weight. One of the disadvantages of this formula is the lack of consideration of such individual differences of girls as long legs, athletic physique or wide bones. To address this shortcoming, BMI was created. This index is calculated by dividing the weight by height squared. For example, with a girl’s height of 1.63 m and a weight of 60 kg, the index is 23.58. The ideal rate is in the range: 19-24.
