This performance is fascinating from the first minute. And it is not a matter of drama or special effects that are fashionable today. It's all about the story told by the theater-goers. The play “Male gender, singular” is a very light and rather pleasant comedy, in which there is a lot of sparkling humor, fascinating intrigue and unexpected plot twists.
Story line. How it all began?
The plot of the play is very simple, but at the same time terribly interesting. After all, only a true Frenchman (and the authors of the play “Masculine, Singular” and they are the French) could come up with such a plot twist.
At the very beginning of the story told to the audience from the stage, it will be possible to get acquainted with a young man named Louis. His father is a very respectable official. But mother disappeared a quarter of a century ago - Louis then was still quite a child. She was searched for many years, but these searches yielded no results. Therefore, over time, the family stopped them.
The official raised his son on his own. And now, after so many years, he decides to marry his son and marry himself - the girlfriend of his ex-wife, who has long since opened a serious hunt for him.
Story line. Friend or mom?
There is no doubt that "Masculine, singular" is a performance that has won many admirers. And do not be surprised, because everything is deserved.
From this begins, in fact, all the action. Once, Colonel Frank Harder appeared in the home of an official Lamar. He is a longtime friend of this family. From that moment on, everything turns upside down. The past, which includes a great many incredible events, begins to exert a strong influence on the real life of all heroes, making its own adjustments to their plans.
Further the performance “Masculine gender, singular” shows absolutely incredible facts. Frank admits that he is the ex-wife of Lamar and the mother of their common son. Allegedly, she and the whole family were in danger due to the fact that she was a secret agent of counterintelligence. That's why she had to change everything absolutely in her life - appearance, name and even gender. And now there is a need to return, because day by day there is growing concern for the fate of the grown Louis.
What happens next? There is a mess of laughter, farce and ridiculous relationships. Viewers can see a lot of interesting moments. These are the events that fill the play "Masculine gender, singular."
What do theatergoers say?
Perhaps for some the very beginning of the performance will seem a little boring, and the jokes are flat and not at all funny. But only a few minutes pass, the storyline develops, new actors enter the scene. Now it is impossible to stop the growing interest in the play "Masculine, singular." It turns out that the whole story is more than famously twisted. What will happen next is impossible to understand or guess. Yes, and to call the plot banal, the language does not turn.
Despite the play “The masculine singular”, reviews which contain many words of gratitude to the actors, has some age limit - 16+, nothing juicy can be found in it. But you can understand why this restriction exists by looking at the plot - a too delicate topic has been raised in this story. Yes, and small frivolities (it is worth recalling, for example, the maid Jasant) are also present.
Performance for the soul
The roles of Louis and his father Lamar were played by Eugene Samarin and Vladimir Korenev. Other actors shone on the stage. The replicas of each artist were sparkling, each movement was honed, easy and relaxed. Thanks to this, the overall game turned out to be lively and real. The only thing that could spoil the impression a bit was that Korenev was already a little old for his character, who is 50 years old in this story, no more. The great actor is already over seventy. This, of course, does not spoil the overall picture, because talent has no age.
Despite the small blots, in general, the comedy turned out to be very funny, easily raising the mood. Plus beautiful French tunes in retro style.
So without any doubt it can be argued that the statement “The masculine gender, singular”, the reviews of the audience about which are very supportive, is one of the most unexpected and fun performances in its festivity. Even viewers with a particularly unbridled imagination are not able to come up with what is in the plot and what awaits them in the next minute of action.
