Some computer users, one way or another connected with Internet surfing, sometimes encounter the QkSee process that has come to the system from nowhere. What kind of program is and how to remove it (and you must do this without fail), now it will be considered. To do this, you can use several simple techniques.
QkSee: what kind of program?
Unfortunately, all users will have to be disappointed at once: QkSee is a virus, which is a category of so-called browser hijackers.
As a rule, this virus is not particularly critical to the system. That is, the performance is not broken, but when you access the Internet, problems begin, which will be discussed later.
How a program penetrates a computer and affects a system
So, let's look at the nature of the virus. What kind of program it is - QkSee, it will become clear if you look at how it penetrates the computer system and what effect it has on it. Typically, an application is installed as a so-called affiliate program, which an ordinary user may not even be aware of.
Most of these users install some applications downloaded from dubious sources or from sites containing pirated content. The virus code is just attached to the installation distribution, and is activated during the installation process. But here, users thoughtlessly click on the buttons to continue the installation, without even really figuring out which additional elements or panels are installed in the system.
Now another aspect related to the QkSee virus. What is the program in front of us in the broadest sense? This is a background service that, after activation, installs unnecessary plugins in browsers, replaces start pages and search engines, redirects users to questionable sites, gives out a bunch of ads, etc. But the main thing is that with its help, when a deep integration into the system occurs with the creation of its own copies of the virus, the user's personal information can be stolen. That is why, when the first signs of infection appear, it is necessary to remove this threat without delay for a second.
QkSee: what kind of program and how to remove it using the standard method?
Now a few words about uninstalling. The virus itself is not hidden from the user, therefore, in solving the problem of how to remove the QkSee program, you can use the standard technique used in Windows systems.
First, go to the programs and components section located in the “Control Panel”, find the QkSee component and perform the usual uninstall procedure. However, before that, you need to disable the QkSee.exe process in the "Task Manager" and remove this component from the startup menu in the system configuration ("Run" - msconfig - "Startup"), and in the case of Windows 10, use the startup section in the "Task Manager" ".
After that, you need to find and delete files in the "Explorer", and then call the registry editor (regedit command in the "Run" console) and search by name (QkSee), then delete all the keys and entries found. Finally, it is advisable to check the system with some kind of optimizer like CCleaner.
Please note that we are not talking about the use of antivirus software, because the application is able to bypass protection only because it has the status of trusted.
How to remove a program using special utilities
To save time and not to manually search for residual components, it is better to use highly targeted uninstaller programs like Revo Uninstaller or iObit Uninstaller.
They display a list similar to the standard set of Windows, but first they are deleted using the built-in system tools, and then a deep scan follows, after which the removal of residual components, including files, folders and registry entries, is activated.
Settings in some browsers
But the main problem is that even after removing the virus, its constituent components can remain in browsers in the form of extensions and additions. Therefore, they need to be removed here.
In Google Chrome, chrome: // extensions is entered in the address bar, the required component is in the list of installed plugins, disabled, and then removed by clicking on the trash can icon.
In Mozilla Firefox, you need to register about: addones as the address, find QkSee in the extensions tab, and then, as in the previous case, disable and delete it.
In Internet Explorer, the operations are identical. Only for access to the settings the Alt + X combination is used, after which the add-ons section is selected, where the QkSee component, again, is disabled and deleted.
A general rule for all web browsers is to restart programs after disabling and removing the above add-ons.
Instead of a total
This is the QkSee virus. What kind of program this is, in general, is already clear. It looks a lot like identical applets. The virus does not pose a particular threat at first, therefore, at the first sign of infection, immediate removal should be used. If this is not done, the consequences when the virus adapts to the system and makes its own copies can be quite serious. As for the choice of the removal tool, antivirus software will not particularly help here, so you will have to use manual removal or use special programs. In extreme cases, you can, of course, check the system using the Anti-Malware scanner, but, as practice shows, there is no hope that the virus will be found and removed completely (this is especially true when the threat has penetrated the system very deeply) . But in some cases, at the first stages of infection, such a technique may work, so this option should not be neglected.
