Reasons for the appearance
As a rule, such an attack catches up with users who like to install freeware and shareware programs without looking at clicking on the “Next” button. In this case, they are almost guaranteed to get some kind of advertising module from Mail.ru or “Yambler” into the load.
In addition, if your browser does not have any toolbars from these “wonderful” companies, but the browser still opens some kind of “left” page, this may indicate that the computer has been infected with some kind of trojan or similar “evil spirits”.
What to do if advertising starts when the browser starts? First of all - do not panic! All this can be eliminated.
We are looking for the culprit
To accustom the browser to an adequate appearance, you have to find the root of all troubles. Consider this with Firefox and Google Chrome as they are currently the most common.
So, in “Ognelis” you should click on the settings button located in the upper left of the monitor. A working window will open in which there is an item “Add-ons”. Click on it with the left mouse button, after which you will see a list of all plugins installed in the browser. Look among them for something suspicious.
Since we already talked about advertising modules from Mail.ru and Yambler, first try to find any points where these names are found. However, look at the start page itself: if a Yandex advertisement is opened when the browser starts, then look for its plugin.
To remove them, you need to click on the icon with the image of the trash. After that restart your browser. Then you will need to go to "Settings / General" by clicking on the same button. In the last tab ("General") there is an item "Launch". With it, you can easily register the address of the page that you really would like to see when you start the browser.
Often, when Firefox starts up, an ad opens after you accidentally clicked on the “Make Start Page” button on some dubious site. As a rule, the usual change to this page in the settings is quite enough, since such portals install infrequently additional modules.
Google chrome
In this program, everything is done in almost the same way. Only to go to the settings you need to click on the button located in the upper right corner. Go to the "Tools / Extensions" path. In the same way, find and remove all the more or less suspicious plugins and restart the browser.
To change the start page, you need to go to the “Settings” tab, where there is an item “Start group”. Using its settings, you can also change your browser settings to normal.

If even after all the measures taken, an advertisement opens when the browser starts, the fact of a clear infection of the machine with malicious Adware is obvious. To deal with it, manual mode is no longer enough.
