This was the main incentive to create a professional type of devices. This species is presented on the market in two varieties:
- Geodetic receivers. They include a special antenna and a controller that introduces errors in the measurements, thereby achieving the most accurate result.
- GIS-class devices. They are an industrial version of a handheld personal computer in which a transmitter, especially software and a receiver, are built-in. This significantly reduces the error in determining the coordinates.
Now, due to the development of technology, it is impossible to draw a clear line between two types of devices - both equipment can replace each other under various circumstances.
Personal equipment
An ordinary person resorts to a similar kind of device in two cases: in order to determine his location and not get lost, to track any object or subject for the purpose of protection. Depending on the task, a personal satellite receiver can be portable. In this case, it is a small compact device. In addition, the receiver can be built into any other equipment, such as a laptop or phone.
