Novosibirsk and its inhabitants received a new theater on October 1, 1933. In response to the directive from the capital on the creation of creative teams in Novosibirsk, a collective-state-farm mobile theater is being created. Rehearsals begin on October 1, and the first shows are planned for the 15th. However, this theater did not have independence and worked as a branch of the even older theater of Novosibirsk - the Red Torch. However, if the main theater gave performances in the city, then his younger brother was mobile and toured the region.
At first, the troupe was small - only 15 people, youth from amateur performances and the Red Torch troupe. The outbreak of World War II forced artists to travel even more, but not only in their native region. The Novosibirsk theater almost all went to the front, where he gave concerts and performances for soldiers. In 42, the theater became the Novosibirsk Regional Drama, and in 67 it received a separate building, which is still located in it.
In the difficult for the theater environment in 1991, the collective receives a new name - the theater "Old House". Novosibirsk and its inhabitants could watch classics and plays by contemporary authors on its stage.
Theater today
In 2008, the theater was included in the list of record holders of the Novosibirsk Region as the most touring troupe. And this is no coincidence - the theater "Old House" is invited to many theater festivals. Novosibirsk, thanks to its troupe, was heard by the theater public not only throughout Russia, but also in Germany, Japan and Poland.
In addition to the diverse repertoire, the stage of the āOld Houseā is the venue for master classes and lessons of leading world directors, a venue for festivals of various kinds and a meeting place with an audience in love with art.
In 2003, the theater underwent a global restoration. In addition to general repairs, the technical equipment has also changed. New lighting and sound equipment appeared on the stage, as well as new armchairs and an air conditioning system in the auditorium, in the lobby there were comfortable armchairs for waiting for the performance, at the box office there was an electronic display for choosing places and exploring the repertoire, as well as a theater poster. Novosibirsk so far has only a few theaters with similar equipment.
Pleasant trifles
In addition to the general and important, after the reconstruction of 2003, the theater prepared pleasant trifles and surprises for guests. So, in the foyer, photographs of the troupe's actors are hung and among them a mirror hangs with the caption āHappy Spectatorā. Look into it and become part of the theaterās creative team.
Also after reconstruction, new comfortable armchairs upholstered in blue velor fabric appeared in the hall. But one armchair is different - it is signed as a happy one, upholstered in red cloth and with it a better view of the scene opens. Creative team
More recently, personnel changes took place in the theater - the young, bold and bright Galina Pyanova came to replace the chief director. She is not only an actress and director, she is the founder of the ArtShock cultural shock theater. This is a unique mix of genres and styles of experimental and independent theaters and art projects. As a director, she staged the following performances in the theater - āThey drive shot horses, don't they?ā, āLetovā, āSnow Maiden. Laboratory āand others.
Invited directors also stage the theater, for example, Sergei Fedotov from Perm presented two performances based on the works of Martin McDonagh to Novosibirsk. Semen Aleksandrovsky from St. Petersburg puts on a play based on a specially written play commissioned by the local Akademgorodok about him. There are also works by foreign colleagues in the repertoire. So, under the direction of the Italian director Antonio Latella, many-hour performances based on the works of Ibsen and Euripides were staged.
