Pskov Drama Theater . A.S. Pushkin
This is the oldest theater in the city. It got its name in honor of the famous Russian poet, because the theater building was laid in the year of the 100th anniversary of his birth - in 1899. It was completed by 1906, and since then for more than a century the institution has been pleasing to the inhabitants of Pskov.
The Pushkin Theater (Pskov) in its history has served as a stage for many famous actors. So, among them one can name E. Karchagin-Alexandrovskaya, E. Vitogran and many others, such stars as F. Chaliapin and A. Duncan even performed here.

Repertoire
The Drama Theater (Pskov) shows many different productions, including comedies, melodramas, dramas and even children's tales, including those based on the works of A.S. Pushkin. Among the most famous comedies are “Clinical Case” and “A Man Doomed to Happiness”, and among dramas - “Dance of Delhi” and “Four Pictures of Love”.
The production "Clinical case" is one of the most beloved among residents and guests of Pskov. She tells the story of a wealthy man who suddenly fell into trouble from all sides, both in work and in his personal life. As a result, the man had to surround himself with a halo of lies. The theater tries to make its repertoire interesting, therefore in the poster you can see performances not only for lovers of classics, but also modern performances. So, they include, for example, the work of Vasily Sigarev "Ladybugs returning to the earth." This is a performance about modern life on the outskirts of a big city, in a house next to a cemetery. The gloomy atmosphere, however, does not oppress, because it is here that faith in the best - in ladybugs - lives.

Puppet show
The Puppet Theater (Pskov) was also founded a long time ago. So, he has been working since 1964, more than 50 years. Over the years, the theater was led by well-known directors, for example, Alexander Veselov and Vladimir Miusdushevsky. Of the staff at the moment in the theater there are 14 people, which are enough for both productions and maintenance of equipment.
Note that the theater often travels to other cities on tour, while taking all the equipment with it.
Repertoire
Despite the fact that other Pskov theaters also show performances for children, the popularity of the puppet does not decrease from this. Indeed, young children are more likely to perceive representations with dolls. To watch the performances it wasn’t boring, the institution offers more than 20 different productions, including such productions beloved by young viewers as “By the Pike Command,” “Masha and the Bear”, “The Gosling”, “The Fly-Tsokotuha”, “Little Red Riding Hood” and many other children's tales. There is no sense in telling more about how good our folk tales are, because everyone has known and loves them since childhood. Works for children are always filled with good and moral, which teaches good, courage and friendship.
Puppet theater makes performances not only for children, its repertoire includes productions for schoolchildren and adults, for example, Faust and The Man Who Was Not. If everything is clear about the production of Faust, the second deserves special attention. Surprisingly, in 2001 the Puppet Theater found an unpublished work by the famous writer Sergei Dovlatov, which he wrote specifically for this theater, for showing to schoolchildren. It took some time to prepare the play, and in 2003, the solemn premiere took place. Today, the performance is staged not only by the Pskov institution, but also by other theaters of the country.
Green Theater
Theaters of Pskov are not limited to traditional ones. So, the most interesting in this regard is the Green Theater (Pskov), which is located directly under the open sky. This is an amazing building that resembles the ancient Roman amphitheaters, but instead of steps there are green hills, on which there are wooden benches painted in a pleasant light brown color. Below, in the recess, is a wooden stage.
It should be said that the theater became a favorite place of citizens not only in concert days, this pleasant place immediately became one of the new symbols of Pskov. Of course, it is difficult to call it a full-fledged theater in the traditional sense of the word. Usually in the Green Theater in the summer are festive and concert events, as well as film screenings. In winter, the open-air establishment does not work.
