If utorrent does not download

In almost every thematic forum on the Internet you can find the theme "utorrent does not download." An amazing thing: developers of torrent clients (among which the specified torrent) release new and new versions of their products, improve their working mechanisms, add new functions, and some users claim that the programs canโ€™t cope with their main purpose. In fact, each side is right at the same time ... and no. Indeed, sometimes utorrent does not download, but the problem is not the errors of this client program.

File sharing through the torrent system is one of the most popular on the whole Internet. It is not surprising that copyright companies have an active policy to suppress the dissemination of information through torrents. The advantage of this method of file distribution is that the source of the data is not one computer, as is the case with file storages, but many download participants themselves. That is, once someone starts downloading a file via a torrent, his client program automatically (if this is clearly not forbidden in the settings) starts distributing already downloaded sections to new users who are connected to the initial distribution. Such is the system of mutually beneficial โ€œcooperationโ€. Why do questions arise that utorrent does not download?

There are several reasons for this, and among them there are no important and secondary ones, since the result is the same. Because of this, it is impossible to guarantee that the implementation of recommendations with 100% probability will solve the problem. For an exact answer, it is necessary to take into account various nuances, which can only be done by the owner of each specific computer.

So, if the torrent does not work, then the problem may be blocking traffic from the torrent client by the Internet provider. The fact is that these programs create impressive data streams, initiating a large number of connections, which causes a high load on the provider's equipment. Therefore, some of them began to block the operation of such client programs, disrupting the passage of TCP packets. If the reason is this, then the solution is as follows:

- install utorrent version no lower than 1.8.1;

- in the client, press the combination Ctrl + P, follow the item BitTorrent and enable encryption of the protocol used.

In addition, you can try changing the client program. On torrent trackers (sites where the download is initiated from) compatible clients are usually indicated.

Another reason that utorrent does not download is the lack of user privileges in the operating system. On the folder where the download takes place (set in the client settings), you need to right-click and follow the path Properties - Security - Advanced - Owner - Change. Here we change the owner to ourselves, put a tick for subcontainers and apply the changes. So simple.

In addition, in some cases, the Windows 7 operating system blocks saving the downloaded file directly to the root directory of the disk, which, in principle, is correct. To solve it, you just need to create a folder for files and specify it in the settings of the torrent client.

A similar problem can occur when starting a torrent client without administrator rights. This is especially true for Windows 8, where the user is limited in almost everything. To solve the problem, create a shortcut utorrent and in its properties specify "run as administrator".

Sometimes a firewall blocks the work of a torrent (both built-in and included in the anti-virus package). You need to add the program to the exceptions or try changing the ports involved (Ctrl + G combination).

Another specific problem is an incorrectly configured proxy server (if enabled).

If utorrent slows down, then you need to configure the connections: Ctrl + P - Speed โ€‹โ€‹- Number of connections. We halve it. An alternative is to use the setup wizard (Ctrl + G).
