The functionality of the Word program is quite wide. It allows you to draw up a document exactly as the user wants. One useful feature is text overlay. In the "Word" to achieve this effect is quite easy.
Why might an overlay be needed?
Before exploring how to apply text to text in Word, it is worth noting a number of tasks that require this function to be performed. One of the most popular is the use of certain words on the document substrate in order to clearly indicate its feature, but at the same time not to impair readability. An example of such a document can be a sheet used as a sample, where the background has the inscription "SAMPLE".
How can I overlay text?
In order not to use the creation of special pictures for the background of each of the documents, itβs enough to figure out how to put text on the text in the Word using the program.
You can implement the overlay using the substrate - in versions of Word 2012 and later, this function is located in the "Design" tab. Select the "Substrate" button in the "Page Background" panel, a menu will open containing a number of templates and also offering to create your own type of background.
By choosing one of the proposed ones or creating your own substrate, the user can easily change it in future work. At the same time, work with it as with plain text - change the font, size and color of the text. If the backing turns out to be superfluous, then it can be removed by selecting "Delete backing" in the same menu.
It is worth noting that the substrate function allows you to use not only text as a background, but also pictures that the program offers to automatically discolor.
Overlay Features in Word 2003 and 2007
The solution to the question of how to apply text to the text in Word in the 2007-2010, 2003, and earlier programs has several differences. They are not significant - the result of the work is the same in all cases, but the way to create the substrate is somewhat different. And in order not to look for additional information about how to put text on the text for each version in Word, it is enough to familiarize yourself with the differences in the modern and old versions.
As described above, you can set the background in the "Page Background" group. But if in versions of 2010 and above this item is in the "Design" contribution, then in the 2007-2010 version. it is located in the "Page Layout" section of the quick access panel, and in 2003, in the "Format" menu. Otherwise, the process of creating an individual substrate is similar in all existing versions of Word.
