When approaching their native places, the herd is pressed against the shoreline - here they are greeted by fishermen with a fixed net, which constructively represents a kind of “wing” or a wall of mesh; she directs the fish into traps. The height of the wing usually reaches the surface. And the length ranges from one hundred to two hundred meters. Fixed netting is used in the marine coastal fishery for salmon, herring, smelt or herring, some other types of fish. It is characteristic that trophies caught in this form of netting remain intact for a long time, remaining inside the trap. In addition, fixed netting is used for muddy days, when fishing is difficult by other means. Fixed gear - the construction is quite expensive and difficult to install.

This is a small structure, mainly used for bottom coastal - lake or sea - fishing on small vessels (as an option, from the shore).
