Adobe Photoshop has gained tremendous popularity over the past ten years. This is due to the fact that the developers decided to simplify the design and interface for a universal user, now not only specific specialists work in this environment, but also ordinary users who use the software for their own purposes. Many beginners are trying to learn all the intricacies of Photoshop. For example, learn to insert faces into a template. But to do this, you need to own some tools. In the article, we will consider some auxiliary elements for inserting an image into an object.
How to insert a face into a template in Photoshop
The process can be divided into two stages. The first step is to select the image and cut it. The second is the direct implementation of the object in the template and image retouching. Operations are carried out exclusively by a specific method, specifically for the situation.
Selection and clipping
In order to insert a face into the template, you need to start by highlighting the face. Itβs best to use the Pen tool, as the most inaccessible pixels can be manually selected using the multiple-approximation method. In some cases, users will find it convenient to use the Quick Selection tool.
Let's analyze the universal case using the Pen tool:
- Select a tool in the quick access toolbar.
- Then let's move on to creating a contour around the face, for this you need to put a reference point on the border of the face-image section.
- We put the second point, tracing the contour of the face. If the user needs to make a curved line, then an additional reference point should be created, which will set the radius of curvature of the element.
- The created contour must be closed at the first reference point so that the formed figure can select the area.
- After the closure, it is necessary to convert the contour to the selected area, for this you need to right-click on the contour and select "Create selected area". A window pops up where you need to specify the shading value.
- The selected area should be cut with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C.
Insert into template
In the previous paragraph, we copied the area to the clipboard, now we have to overlay it on another image. But for this, from the very beginning, open and load the template in Adobe Photoshop.
- In order to insert a face into the template, you need to unload the cropped image from the clipboard.
- Now you need to use the "Transform" function using the hot keys Ctrl + T. The image should be adapted to the template, that is, to make the face appear natural when combined with the image. It is worth remembering that in addition to free transformation, there are other types: distortion, perspective, deformation, and others. If itβs not enough for you just to resize, then use the above functions for a better combination.
- Take an eraser, set the stiffness to half the division, determine the size yourself. You can make the edges of the inserted face softer and more harmonious, allowing you to better fit into the overall image.
