Fishing in Moldova takes place primarily on such rivers as the Prut and Dniester. Of course, there are many beautiful lakes, reservoirs and artificial ponds in the republic, where fishing is no less interesting and can please with good catches. Nevertheless, many professionals believe that these rivers of Moldova are the most promising.
Popular places on the Dniester
This water artery flows not only through the territory of the republic, but also through Ukraine and Transnistria. In general, fishing in Moldova is good because on its territory you can always find a secluded place far from the hustle and bustle to spend time in peace and quiet with a fishing rod in hand.
Dniester is the largest river of the republic. The most fishy, ββaccording to fishing enthusiasts, places along its length are those sites that are located downstream from the village of Merineshty.
This part of the river is notable for the fact that its channel twists strongly, creating many backwaters in which there is no current. In addition, in these places there are zones with rather great depths, and at the bottom there is a large amount of firewood. This explains the fact that the concentration of underwater inhabitants here is quite large. In such places, small fish find shelter from predators, in addition, there is a lot of very different food. That is why in these places, according to many, there is often a truly excellent nibble.
What kind of fish can be caught in the Dniester
Fishing in Moldova on this river, especially if a person knows the approximate places of gathering of prey and the specifics of its fishing, almost always brings excellent results. Like peaceful fish of carp species, asp with chub peck here very well.
Once in the Dniester there was even such an elite fish as sterlet. Today, here you can catch chop, ide, as well as pike perch, sculpin, pike, roach, crucian carp, Verkhovka, tench, etc. The catfish is considered the most desirable prey for fishermen on the Dniester.
Small representatives of the underwater world in the river are abundant. Based on this, very rarely professionals give a pessimistic forecast for fishing, although the catch still depends on the weather. Indeed, the water expanses of the Dniester are a true paradise for lovers.
In the upper course you can fish roach, bream, pike, common carp, as well as perch and white-eye. A huge amount of fish is observed near the coastal strip during the spawning period, primarily ram and bream. Nevertheless, you need to know that at this time it is not allowed to catch many underwater inhabitants.
Unauthorized fishing
Since April 1, a strict ban on fishing is introduced in all lakes and rivers of Moldova. For ninety days, i.e. Until the last days of June, fishing is not permitted.
For violation of the rules there is a fine in the amount of ten or twenty y. e. A fishing permit is issued by the civil service in charge of fisheries.
The fishing ban is also valid on the Dniester River: it covers coastal areas from the Dubossary hydroelectric station up to the village of Palanka, as well as the territory of the Turunchuk arm. An exception to the general rule is herring fishing. It is always allowed, except for a ten-day period that falls on its mass migration.
Lakes fishing
There are a lot of water bodies worthy of attention where you can successfully fish in Moldova. Many local lovers like the lake of Moldova. Some of them do not even have a name. They are usually characterized by naming nearby villages or villages.
The first spring fishing in Lake Gura-Bykulai is unusually popular, where carp and crucian carp, silver carp and grass carp, as well as roach and scavenger, are found.
Most of the water bodies of Moldova are of artificial origin. They form often after small rivers or streams are blocked by dams.
For example, carp can be caught on a small Balkau lake, although it is mostly small-sized - weighing up to a maximum of two and a half kilograms. In the same reservoir, roach with zander and perch are also well caught.
In Tarnovsky small lake carp, carp are found. In Rotunda, in addition to the specified fish, there is also bream. In the Ungheni pond, which is very popular with professional anglers, fish such as grass carp are found here, which are caught from the shore with a fishing rod for mamalyga or pearl barley, soaked overnight.
Many lakes in Moldova are leased to farm owners, therefore, in order to fish in them, you need to agree in advance with the owners.
River prut
This is the second largest waterway of the republic. Fishing in Moldova on the Prut River is almost always successful. Often, real trophies come across here. The origins of this river are the peaks of the Carpathians. The rod passes through the territory of Ukraine, then flows along the border of Moldova and Romania.
Earlier, in Soviet times, spearfishing in this territory was not allowed, since the river was in the border zone. After the barriers were demolished, access to the river became possible. However, today, before fishing, you need to notify the border guards and indicate the intended location.
Many people prefer to come to the river for catfish. Here, in the border area, in the Prut River, this inhabitant of water bodies weighing twenty or twenty five kilograms is a common phenomenon, but professionals often return with trophy specimens reaching up to forty kilograms. Of course, without knowledge of the catfish habitat, local conditions and its preferences, underwater fishing on such large individuals is unlikely to succeed, but even a beginner can catch a small eight kilogram fish in the river.
Features of fishing in the Prut River
Fishing in coastal zones in many parts of this large waterway of Moldova is covered with dense grass and shrubs, in which wild pigs are often found. Meetings with them are best avoided.
They catch the most different tackle in the Prut: their choice depends on the fish they are fishing for, as well as on the conditions and the place chosen on the river. Most locals use spinning and bottom gear. Underwater fishing for predatory fish is one of the favorite pastimes of many Moldavians.
In the Prut, perch is well caught, especially pecking at the dawn, when, going out for hunting, chases fry on the river. The best artificial bait for fishing on it is a small wobbler of natural color. On such a bait, the perch rushes especially eagerly, almost without hesitation. Almost as good in this river is caught and pike perch. And in the backwaters, where there is little or no current, many fish are carp or crucian carp. For this purpose, a nozzle such as a green bogworm, which can be obtained right on the shore, is also used on float gear .
Gidigichsky reservoir
Fishing in Moldova, according to many, is remarkable in that, having your own vehicle, in one day it is really possible to go fishing in several reservoirs at once. In addition, the beautiful nature contributes to the fact that many people leave the city as families. There are many favorable places for camping in the republic, where you can not only go fishing well, but also have a great rest with your relatives, treating them to fish soup from freshly caught prey.
Gidigichi reservoir is considered one of the largest in Moldova. It is also called the Chisinau Sea, apparently due to the fact that it is located near the capital. Many residents of the city get here fishing by bus or other public transport. There are many tourist centers around, but fishing on the reservoir from the side of Roshkany or Sirets is especially popular.
Gidigich is perfect for catching zander, roach, rudd and crucian carp. Most amateurs are fishing for ordinary fishing rods, as the reservoir is unfortunately not very suitable for spinning. Sometimes even large pikes come across here. The Chisinau Sea is carefully guarded by the fish inspectorate; therefore, a permit is required for fishing. In no case can you use the network here.
Danchensk reservoir
It is slightly smaller than Gidigich and a little further from Chisinau. The fish in it are very different: it is perch with crucian carp, and carp, somewhat smaller than the population of roach and bleak, but the most long-awaited trophy in the Danchensky reservoir is
silver carp. Some copies of this representative of the underwater world here reach thirty kilograms.
