Chisinau Airport is small, comfortable and practical, with well-thought-out infrastructure, a wide selection of paid services and free services.
In one terminal all that is necessary for passengers, mourners, visitors and airport employees is compactly fit. Despite its less than impressive dimensions, the main airport of Moldova is one of the most actively developing air harbors in the post-Soviet space.
Chisinau Airport was repeatedly nominated for the title of the best airport in the CIS countries and was awarded prestigious awards, ranks and grants.
Facilities and service
For people arriving in Chisinau for the first time, the airport is the gateway to a new culture, country and city. That is why the main airport of Moldova is trying to predict the needs and requirements of passengers and visitors.
Since November 2013, Chisinau Airport has been concessioned to the Russian company OJSC AVIA INVEST, which plans to equip a multi-level underground parking for 800 cars. Prior to the opening of a new parking lot, passengers and mourners are invited to leave the car in an open area 200 meters from the airport building or use the temporary free parking directly at the terminal.
It is fashionable for mourners to leave the car for a short time (no more than three minutes) immediately before entering the departure hall.
Chisinau Airport offers passengers, if necessary, use the wireless Internet, airport information desk, medical center, mother and child room and playground for free.
Among the paid services, passengers can use the VIP waiting room, conference rooms, 24-hour Duty Free shops, air ticket and travel agency services, currency exchange, cafes and restaurants, as well as car rental and taxi services.
In order to demonstrate how hospitable Moldova and its capital Chisinau is, the airport offers the service “Meeting with bread and salt”, which provides for the arrival of a guest with a loaf of salt and airport workers in national costumes to folk music.
