Egyptian Airlines is one of the largest carriers in North Africa. It is the national airline of Egypt and is wholly owned by the state. Egypt Air maintains regular flights between Egypt and countries in Europe, North America and Asia.
Historical reference
Egyptian Airlines operates in the field of cargo and passenger air transportation. The founding date of the enterprise is May 7, 1932. Then it was called MisrAirwork and was based at Cairo Airport. However, the first flight was completed almost a year and a half later - in August of the 33rd - in the direction of Cairo-Alexandria.
Egypt Air has maintained leadership in transportation across the African continent for about 10 years since its founding.
When World War II was in full swing, the airline became the property of the government. The geographical network of flights has grown markedly. The former name has changed to Misr Airlines. In 1948, 10 Beechcraft aircraft were purchased, and a year later the same number of VC-1 Viking. By 1949, the number of flights doubled.
In 1971, the name was changed again. From now on, the company is called Egypt Air. By 1981, the company had purchased wide-body long-range “Airbus A300”.
In 2008, the airline became a member of the StarAlliance international carrier alliance. In the same year, the construction of a new, third terminal complex was completed at the airport where the airline was based. In this regard, all flights of the airline and other alliance members were transferred there.
Subsidiaries of Egyptian Airlines are Egypt Air Express, Egypt air Cargo and Air Sinai.
Today it is the second largest passenger company in Africa after SouthAfrican Airways.
The company logo depicts Khor - a heavenly god from the legends and myths of Ancient Egypt.

The average aircraft life is 10 years.
Among the type A320-200 aircraft, there is one that is designed to carry only economy class passengers with a carrying capacity of 174 people, but it is used only on domestic flights.
Passenger air services are carried out on these 60 aircraft. However, during peak periods, the company takes other companies' planes on lease of a wet type.

The only Russian city where Egyptian Airlines flies is Moscow (Domodedovo).

Check in for flights
The start and end time of registration is determined depending on the chosen direction and airport of departure.
You can register for international flights at the airport three hours before the scheduled departure time. Registration ends exactly one hour before departure.
For flights within the country, check-in begins two hours, and ends half an hour before the departure of the aircraft, respectively.
To save time, you can use the electronic registration service, which is available on the airline’s website. This can be done two days before departure. Web check-in ends 1.5 hours before departure.
For passengers with children under 2 years old and with animals, online check-in is not available.
Onboard Service
Egyptian Airlines offers passengers three service classes in flight:
The first class is represented only in three aircraft from the entire fleet - in the Airbus A340 and two Boeing 777-200s. The remaining two classes of service are available on all aircraft of the company.
Luggage
Baggage allowances for passengers vary depending on the class of service. First class air passengers can carry up to 40 kg of luggage, business - up to 30 kg, and economic - up to 20 kg. First and business class passengers are entitled to take on board up to two bags weighing up to 7 kg each. In economy class it is permissible to carry one bag up to 7 kg. For a child under 2 years of age who flies without a separate seat in the cabin, a baggage allowance of 10 kg is provided.
For flights across the Atlantic Ocean, baggage allowances are increased. In the first and business class, it is allowed to carry a maximum of 2 baggage bags with a maximum weight of up to 32 kg, in the economy class - up to 23 kg. For children under 2 years of age, one luggage space of up to 23 kg can be checked out.
Overweight or extra baggage is paid at the airport of departure.
