Autumn time is the most favorable time when excellent
fishing begins
. Pike
fishing is no exception. Lower temperatures, cold winds and rains, of course, affect the behavior of fish. In some, for example, in predators such as pike, biological processes are activated, reminiscent of the fact that it is time to go on an intense and long zhor before winter. Indeed, it was at this time that mature individuals began the development of sexual products, requiring both energy and “building material”.
Although fishing for pike in the fall is most catchy in the morning or in the evening, however, to say that there is no daily bite is not quite right.
As the temperature of water and air decreases, the zhor of this predator grows, reaching its peak in ice formation. On small rivers and ponds with the onset of night frost, the most catchy pike fishing occurs.
In the fall, this toothy inhabitant of the reservoirs gradually begins to descend to the bottom, trying to stay on the snag or eyebrows, using them as a shelter. Sometimes it descends to a depth of eight meters.
Pike fishing in the fall, especially in September, is possible by any means and bait. At the same time, the fish bites both with large lure and with a small vibratory tail, without requiring a certain rate of wiring or depth of reference. However, each pond has its own characteristics.
The only limitation is that autumn fishing for pike is not very good only for live bait. First, at this time, due to the low temperature of the water, the bait is practically motionless, which means that it does not attract prey. And secondly, the pike does not stand still, constantly moves, and therefore it is difficult to guess where to bait.
In September, it is more correct to use heavy spinners for catching with classic spinning. This tackle allows you to deliver the bait to the farthest parts of the reservoir.
Pike fishing in the fall is equally effective on all types of artificial bait. With a spinning rod you can catch both from the shore and from the boat. The main thing is the strength and reliability of the gear. And so that the predator does not cut it off, it is more correct to use a metal leash up to fifteen centimeters long (together with a hook).
Having found the bait, the pike immediately begins to sink the float. At the same time, she slowly takes him to a depth, swallowing deeper and deeper on the go. Therefore, you should not rush into the hook, trying as much as possible to release the fishing rod with fishing line as much as possible for floating prey.
Autumn fishing for pike is no less catchy and for circles. Such tackle is most often used in relatively large bodies of water that do not have a current. Usually this type of fishing occurs on live bait and requires the ability to control the boat in order to be in time by the time the circle turns over.
For catching large specimens, an original Russian tackle is suitable - a track for which any spinning lures are suitable - a variety of
spinners, rotating, oscillating, light, heavy, etc. At the end of the fishing line, a dead fish or spinner is fixed on the tackle. If the bottom of the reservoir is shorted or overgrown with grass, it is better to catch on a wobbler.
In general, you can catch a “freshwater shark" at any time of the year, however it is fishing for pike in autumn that brings the largest specimens as prey.
