Data Archiving: Process Features

The standard data archiving presented in the operating system affects only important system files, while the files and interests of the user are completely forgotten. User data is at great risk in the event of any OS crashes. Due to problems with your hard drive, you can irrevocably lose important information that you have been collecting for years. And they are not able to save standard recovery points from this .

Data archiving
That is why you should sometimes create a large backup copy of all the information that is available on your hard drive. Data archiving is the very tool that allows you to do this. This method, in fact, is a “snapshot” of the contents of the hard drives (or copies of some folders and files). This will be carried out periodically, according to the schedule that you set yourself. Previously, for the implementation of such manipulation, it was necessary to use specialized software, however, with the advent of Windows, this was no longer necessary.

Windows 7 Data Archiving
Archiving Windows XP data starts by starting the Archive Wizard, and then select the backup setting. This should be done once, and then the system itself will automatically create backups. For starters, the program will prompt you to select the drive on which data will be archived. An ideal option for this would be an external hard drive. After specifying the drive to save the backup, you should select the type of backup: the image of the entire hard drive / only individual settings and files. If you are working with a laptop whose volume of the hard drive is modest enough, and you are not interested in collecting tons of content on it, then you should choose the first option. The second method will be appropriate if the amount of disk storage is large.

Windows XP Data Archiving
There is a certain unpleasant moment. It is not difficult to create an image, however, the main problem is related to recovery, since this will erase the entire contents of the hard drive, and archived data will be set to replace it. Windows 7 data archiving can be configured so that the “snapshot” is updated every two to three days, then you will not be so scared to restore them from the archive, because it will contain the most recent files.

When all settings are selected and defined, you can click the “Start Archiving” button, which will allow you to make the necessary copy of all data. This takes quite a long time. After the procedure is completed, a sufficiently large image file is formed on the hard disk. Full backup gives the user one very useful opportunity: loading the “stuffing” of the image disk is possible without starting the operating system (using only the boot menu). In it, the system recovery command is in the first place, it should be opened by pressing F8 at the very beginning of the process.

Now you understand how useful data archiving can be for solving various tasks that an ordinary user may face.
