Cyril Venopus is the pseudonym of the son of the popular TV presenter Sergei Suponev. His father was a real screen star in the 90s. He captivated the audience with fascinating children's programs that were in demand among all generations of Russians at that time. From an early age, Cyril became interested in the profession of the pope. His future seemed obvious. However, shortly after the tragic death of Sergey, his son's life was cut short. In this article, we will talk about his biography and creative career.
Childhood
It was under the name Cyril Venopus that many viewers recognized the young son of the popular TV presenter Sergei Suponev when he first appeared on the screen. Cyril was born in 1984 in a creative family. His grandfather served in the Satire Theater as an actor, along with his grandmother, who was accompanist and pianist. The boy's parents, as well as an aunt and uncle, worked on television.
The son of Sergei Suponev - Cyril, recalled that in childhood he grew up as a capricious child. For example, he refused to wear school uniforms, although this practice existed everywhere, he smoked, skipped classes, and gave offensive nicknames to his peers. The boy’s behavior was so defiant that in the second grade he was even threatened to be kicked out of school.
Problems continued until Cyril was transferred to the school that his father graduated. The credibility of the television presenter, already popular at that time, played a decisive role. Although academic performance was still poor, there were no more behavioral problems.
Talent
Since childhood, Cyril was considered a talented child. In addition, he was very sociable, which contributed to his popularity. However, soon problems began in the boy’s family: his parents broke up when he was 10 years old. This was a serious blow for him. Many relatives believe that Kirill was never able to finally recover from him.
Suponev Sr. early began to involve him in filming in television projects as a presenter. For example, the hero of our article appeared in the program "Everything is Possible" under the name Cyril Venopus. It was his pseudonym, which appeared when the name Suponev was written on the contrary.
Popularity for the student came quite quickly. All classmates knew who Cyril Venopus was. At school, he began to enjoy additional authority.
After school, Cyril Venopus (under this pseudonym he worked for several years) entered the Moscow Institute of International Relations at the Faculty of Journalism. After receiving a diploma, he returned to television already a certified specialist.
Later, he was often surprised that many people thought it was difficult to enter MGIMO. He himself went through a creative contest, describing in detail how he participated in the creation of the program "Everything is possible." So, in the biography of Cyril Venopus, this project played an important role.
Famous father
A big role in the life of Cyril was always played by his father. Sergey Suponev was a popular TV presenter and producer. He played a huge role in the development of domestic children's television. Glory came to him after the projects "Up to 16 and older", "Star hour", "Marathon-15", "Call of the jungle".
Since the mid-90s, he has become the author and producer of a large number of projects that mainly appear on Channel One. These are the programs “Seven troubles - one answer”, “KOAPP”, “The last hero”, “The investigation is conducted by Kolobkov”, “Themselves with a mustache”.
Children and parents were delighted with these programs, which taught and entertained at the same time. It is believed that Suponev managed to educate several generations of young spectators, many of whom still remember the presenter and are grateful to him.
Interestingly, the television presenter Sergei Suponev began his career on television in 1980 with the position of an auxiliary worker. Six years later, he became a correspondent for the youth program "Under 16 and older." He came to popularity in 1989, when he began to lead Marathon-15, and the Starry Hour show made him really famous.
In 2001, Suponev died tragically at the age of 38. In the Tver region, he rode a snowmobile on the ice of the Volga. At full speed, the leader crashed into a wooden pier.
Work on television
After graduating from MGIMO, Kirill, like his father, came to work on television. He held the post of director, developed his own projects. It is noteworthy that at the same time he did not strive for fame, did not dream of becoming a leader, although his father's friends repeatedly offered to help him in this. It seemed to many that he, on the contrary, was doing his best to stay in the shade while working at Ostankino.
For example, after the father’s tragic death, it was he who was offered to conduct the broadcast “Star Hour”, which was popular at that time, but he refused.
Career development on television never happened. Perhaps because Cyril did not strive for this. He said that he did not want to fulfill someone’s will, he wanted to do everything on his own and invent, regardless of the opinions of those around him.
Character
In the biography of Cyril Suponev, the family played an important role. The divorce of his parents, the death of his father shocked him greatly. From a cheerful and sociable person, he turned into an introvert, constantly experiencing personal grief. The hero of our article sought to avoid talking to reporters.
At the same time, friends say that he repeatedly claimed that he wanted to achieve much in life. However, at some point, something broke in him. Cyril remained very demanding of himself. Even a small setback could drive him into a long depression. He often remained in a depressed state of mind. In the last years of his life, he practically did not get out of depression.
Passion for music and personal life
Saying goodbye to television, he took up music. He performed in the rock group "Romeo must die" as a drummer. But he did not achieve popularity in creativity.
It is known that the last year of his life he spent in a civil marriage with a girl named Anna. He met her when he studied at MGIMO.
Cyril admitted that Anya taught him to be responsible and serious, discovered for him a universe of real cinema, filled with world-famous directors, whom young Suponev dreamed of looking like.
Death
Cyril's life ended abruptly even for his closest friends. On September 27, 2013, he asked his mother to give him a lift to his apartment on Osenny Boulevard, where some of his belongings remained. On the same day, he was going to leave with his group on a tour to St. Petersburg.
When we arrived at the house, he asked me not to turn off the engine, saying that he would be back soon. When too much time passed, the mother went up to the apartment, where she saw the already dead son in the noose. Cyril did not leave a note, there were no signs of a struggle. He was 28 years old.
The investigation considered various options for what happened, but as a result it came to the conclusion that it was suicide. The young man has long been depressed, which in recent years has turned into a mental disorder.
The mother, who talked to him a few minutes before his death, claims that he did not have any noticeable mental disorders, he did not take drugs.
