Puppet Theater (Ryazan) was opened in the second half of the 20th century. His repertoire includes performances not only for children, but also for adults. The theater is the organizer of the puppet festival "Ryazan bride."
Theater History
Puppet Theater (Ryazan), the photo of the building of which is presented in this article, was opened in 1968. Previously, the troupe worked at the Philharmonic. But in 1968 she began her independent life. Artists worked in the premises of the Progress club. The theater was directed by director Maria Khomkalova.
The theater received its own building in 1982. In 2011, it was subjected to large-scale reconstruction. Now the building has elegant interiors and modern technical equipment.
Today the Puppet Theater (Ryazan) is actively touring, participating in festivals and forums. He collaborates with colleagues from other countries. The Ryazan Theater is one of the five best puppet temples of Russian art. He is known all over the world.
The theater’s repertoire includes productions for both children and adults. These are fairy tales and works of classics. Ryazan puppeteers call themselves a theater for children and sages.
The play “... and Punishment” based on the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky “Crime and Punishment” was a five-time nominee for the Golden Mask award. Director of the production Oleg Zhyuzhda. The role of Rodion Raskolnikov was performed by the actor Vasily Utochkin.
Today, the main director and artistic director of the theater in one person is Valery Nikolayevich Shadsky. He created and educated a wonderful troupe. During his creative life, Valery Nikolaevich staged eighty performances in various theaters of the country and the world. V. Shadsky came to the theater back in 1979 and has been serving him faithfully for many years.
The troupe employs 19 wonderful puppeteers. Among them are both experienced luminaries and young talents. Three of them were awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. Many actors have awards and diplomas for performing roles in various theater productions.
For most performances, music was written by Albina Shestakova. This is a great composer. She was awarded the title "Honored Worker of Culture of Russia". The theater has a wonderful artist Zakhar Davydov. This unique master twice became the winner of the Golden Mask theater prize.

The festival
Puppet Theater (Ryazan) annually holds a festival on its stage. Troupe from different cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries come to him. The name of the festival is "Ryazan bride." Within its framework, unique puppet shows will be shown to adults and young viewers . The grand opening of the festival takes place on the site near the theater. His artistic director wishes all the participants good luck, successful performances, and the audience a lot of new impressions.
The leader of each troupe, according to the established good tradition, receives a special package as a gift, inside of which there is a "puppet ration". It includes Pinocchio lemonade, Druzhba cheese and the Puppeteer bottle.
