Brief biographical information
Knyshev Andrey Haroldovich was born in Moscow in November 1956. Initially, the young man decided to devote himself to urban planning and after graduating from school decided to get higher education at IISI named after Kuibyshev. Andrei was a very smart young man and a successful student, which is confirmed by the Lenin scholarship, the holder of which Knyshev became during his studies.
There was a student KVN team at the university, for which Andrei wrote scripts with pleasure and ease. Thanks to his witty and really funny lyrics, the team almost always won prizes. Such success led to some rethinking of life and its main purpose. Andrei Knyshev (whose biography was largely determined precisely by this moment) decides to enter the Higher Director's Courses, which he successfully does after graduation from Moscow Urban Planning University.
Recognition of talent
As a student, in 1978, as a participant in KVN, Andrei Knyshev got on the set of the then-famous television quiz called “Salute, Festival!” He even managed to defeat her and win a ticket to Havana. According to the fateful combination of circumstances, the deputy chairman of the State Radio and Television watched this program. After watching it, she dropped that these guys, such as the winners of this program, should work for them at the State Television and Radio. The members of the youth editorial office heard the wishes of the deputy chairman and took them into account. Andrei received an offer of cooperation from them, and a year later, when graduates were distributed at his university, he received it officially.
"Funny boys"
Having fallen on the Central Television of the USSR in the 1980s, Andrei Knyshev began working on the program “Funny Guys”. Before him, the leader of the project was the legendary Alexander Maslyakov, and the program was conducted in the form of a kind of impromptu competition. Its winners received tickets to the festival of satire and humor in Bulgaria. Having come to the helm, the young and ambitious Knyshev is completely changing the format of "Happy Guys."
He became the leading and main author of the scripts, thus creating a program that really had no analogues on domestic television. The program "Funny Guys" was a humorous, and sometimes ironic discussion on topical issues that occur in the state. In it there were parodies of other famous programs and popular pop stars.
Innovative introductions to television broadcasts
On the airs of “Cheerful Guys” one could see episodes shot in genres completely new for that time (for example, a video clip or video art). The program showed various funny pranks, the shooting of which often took place with a hidden camera. For Soviet television, this format was completely innovative and very quickly became popular among a wide mass of viewers.

The broadcast in a similar format was appreciated by the audience not only in the home of Knyshev. Foreign colleagues noticed him, constantly filling up with proposals for cooperation. Andrey did not refuse especially advantageous and interesting ones.
In his life, he had experience working with foreign television companies such as PBS and TBS. For the film, created in conjunction with the first company, Andrei Knyshev was even nominated for the prestigious Emmy Award.
Having tremendous experience of working abroad, Knyshev returned to Russia, where he continued to engage in his work. In just a couple of years, he managed to develop several television projects, including “Show-fit”, “200 Pleasures” and “Duplkich, or the growling of lambs”.
