History of the theater
The Tatar State Puppet Theater "Ekiyat" has been around for many years. It was founded in 1934. This is one of the oldest puppet theaters in our country. Its name is translated into Russian as a "fairy tale." It was originally called the First State International Puppet Theater. Artists played and now play performances in two languages - in Russian and Tatar. Puppet theater "Ekiyat" is known and loved by residents not only of Kazan, but also of many other cities of Tatarstan, Russia. He is known even abroad. All performances are accompanied by beautiful music. Talented composers of Tatarstan write it especially for the theater. The artists' repertoire includes about 40 performances of various genres.
Building
Ekiyat replaced several buildings; for the past 10 years it has been located in a room that used to be an Orthodox church. In 2012, the troupe moved “for permanent residence” to a new building, which is a whole center of culture and leisure for children. This is a huge room. It looks like a real fairytale castle. The area of this seven-story building is equal to the area of three football fields. In addition to the puppet theater, there are the Small Academy of Arts, children's cafes, play areas, a shopping gallery of children's goods. And schools are also organized here:

This building is a whole fabulous country. Luxurious interiors are amazing. Here you can spend time with benefit and have fun from the heart. Puppet Theater occupies exactly one third of the entire building. He has two auditoriums at his disposal: Bolshoi, which seats 258 spectators, and Maly, designed for 100 seats. Ekiyat is the only puppet theater in which there is an orchestra pit. The scene is designed for dolls of all types, so troupes from around the world come here on tour. The large hall has modern top mechanics, which are controlled from a single remote control.
The large hall is also equipped with the latest lighting equipment, which is represented by floodlights, as well as profile projectors. They are also controlled from the remote control. LED spotlights are able to create light rays of various colors and shades. The lower mechanics in the form of collapsible catwalks were made by a German company. In the Small Hall, the equipment is a little easier. The rehearsal room also has floodlights, floodlights and portable acoustic equipment. Theater director
The Puppet Theater "Ekiyat" from 1993 to the present day is headed by Roza Saitnurovna Yapparova. She has the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan. Roza Saitnurovna graduated from Kazan State University and first worked in the editorial office of a print publication. Then she taught at the school for several years, after which she was deputy editor of the newspaper. While studying at the university, R. Yapparova served in the student theater. Her mother also participated in amateur performances for a long time. As a university student, Rosa Saitnurovna often thought about dropping out of school and enrolling in a theater school. In the Puppet Theater "Ekiyat" R. Yapparova first, for 14 years, worked as the head of the literary part. And in 1993, the troupe chose her as director. Rosa Saitnurovna loves children very much and always watches how they watch performances. The emotions of young viewers create a positive energy. When choosing scenes for future productions, the director of the “Ekiyat” theater consults with his daughters and grandchildren to find out whether this or that fairy tale will be interesting to the younger generation. Although to a greater extent Rosa Saitnurovna trusts her professional taste in this matter.
