It was founded in 1959 as a military airfield serving the aircraft of the SA Air Force. There are currently four operating terminals in Sheremetyevo - C, D, E and F. Terminals A and B are not currently used for regular passenger flights.
Terminal C is located in the northern sector and receives both Russian and foreign flights. The sector includes passport control points, check-in counters, VIP-lounge, Duty-free, baggage inspection center, first-aid post, cafes and bank branches. There is a bus service between terminals C and E.
Terminal A is also located in the northern sector of the airport, designed for business aviation passengers and operates with business class flights.
Terminal B (Sheremetyevo-1) was launched in 1961. The sector initially deals only with domestic air travel. Since 2014, the terminal has been closed in connection with the construction of a new building. Completion is planned by the end of 2017.
Terminals D and E are the center for Aeroflot Airlines and another 20 airlines and are used for international flights. There is everything for convenience and passenger service.
Terminal F (Sheremetyevo-2) was opened for the Olympic Games in 1980. Currently serves both international and domestic flights. The terminal F building has reception desks, waiting rooms (including VIP rooms), shops, a cafe and a hotel.
Terminals D, E and F are located in the southern sector of the airport and are interconnected by pedestrian galleries.
How to get to Sheremetyevo
Sheremetyevo is located near the cities of Khimki and Lobnya, which are located in the western part of the Moscow region. By public transport, you can quite easily reach the terminals of Sheremetyevo Airport. The scheme is simple.
Electric trains run from Savelovsky Station (Moscow) to Lobnya Station . Further to the airport terminals can be reached by bus number 21, which runs at intervals of 15 minutes.
From the Planernaya metro station to the airport terminals, take bus number 817.
From the metro station "Rechnoy Vokzal" to Sheremetyevo-1 without intermediate stops daily bus number 851 (851).

From Belorussky Train Station, a high-speed electric train leaves daily for Terminal F, from where a modern shuttle runs to Terminal D.
By car you can also easily get to Sheremetyevo Airport on your own. The driving directions are as follows: from Moscow (from MKAD) along Leningradskoye Shosse (M-10 highway), then turn onto Mezhdunarodnoe Shosse. A road without congestion will take an average of about 40 minutes.
You can also get to the airport by taxi (on average, it costs about a thousand rubles) or use the car-sharing service - this is renting a car with a per-minute payment. By the way, they can now be left free of charge in the parking lot near terminal F.
Parking
The scheme of parking at Sheremetyevo Airport is similar to the location of the terminals, as car parks are located in close proximity to the buildings of both the southern and northern sectors of the airport.
Total parking 14. The average cost per place is about 200 rubles per day. Possible hourly payment of 20 rubles per hour, if the car remains in the parking lot for no more than 10 hours. The price usually includes a service such as delivery to terminal buildings.
