In the columns you can only hear the rumble from the transformer, and you have a question on your mind, why the sound does not work on the computer, although yesterday everything was in order? Or maybe someone used your PC, and after that problems with sound started ? One way or another, without sound, a modern user cannot imagine life. You donāt need to watch a movie, or ācheck outā the video on YouTube, which means that you urgently need to understand the situation and correct the situation by returning the voice to the computer.
The most common answer offered by the humorous inhabitants of the network to those newcomers who receive a call for help in the style of "the sound does not work on the computer, what should I do?" - this is an offer to buy speakers. Of course, in this joke there is some truth, it is difficult to get sound without speakers. But, of course, not only these clever guys are aware of this, but also any more or less competent user. And testing headphones or speakers for performance should no doubt be the first step towards fixing the problem. A convenient and easy way to check these sound sources is to connect them to your phone. Fortunately, almost every mobile phone has music, and all major manufacturers have switched to 3.5 mm standard connectors.
If the check showed that the problems lie inside the system unit, then you need to take some fairly simple actions that will allow you to localize and fix the problem.
If the sound does not work on the computer, you should exclude the effect on the system of viruses. To do this, perform a full scan of the system drive with antivirus software (you have an antivirus installed, right?) And delete everything that it offers, then reboot and check whether the problem has disappeared.
If the problem persists, and no malware was found in the system, then itās time to move on to the next item on our list.
Let's try reinstalling the sound drivers. Do not be alarmed, this is a fairly simple procedure recommended for those cases when the sound does not work on the computer, in addition, it will not require any incredible hacking skills from you.
All you need to do is right-click on āMy Computerā, then select āManagementā there, when the management snap-in opens, click on āDevice Managerā.
In the right window, a list of all the hardware installed in the computer will expand, we are interested in the tab āSound, video and gaming devicesā. There you should find High Definition Audio or Realtec High Definition Audio, other options are possible, for example, SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio. Then, by right-clicking, open the context menu and select the āDeleteā answer option. Confirm your choice and the sound device will be deleted. If you are not sure which device from the list that appears is the driver of the audio card, just delete everything you find in the tab with the word āAudioā.
After a reboot, the system will most likely detect a lack of drivers and install them again. If this did not happen, and the sound on the computer still does not work, and in the āDevice Managerā you have an āunknown multimedia deviceā, then you need to install the drivers manually. To do this, you need a disk from the motherboard, if you have integrated audio, or a disk from a discrete sound card, if it is installed separately. In the event that you do not know what kind of audio card you have, try to find out from the one with whom you built your computer. Well, for those who are already getting the disks out of the box or from the far shelf, all that remains is to insert the media into the DVD drive. You will receive a program invitation to install drivers, which in its opinion are required for the normal operation of the computer. Select the sound card drivers and click āInstallā.
At the end of the process, you will be prompted to restart the computer again, but if you did everything correctly, then at this stage you should have a sound.
In the event that you have faithfully followed all the recommendations outlined in this material, but your computer still doesnāt work, I advise you to invite a friend of your system administrator to your home, or call a computer ambulance. It is possible that the problem is buried much deeper, and in this case it is unlikely that you can fix it yourself.
