Surely, all the new owners of the iPhone and other equipment from Apple had a situation where I wanted to transfer some memorable photos to a mobile device. Unfortunately, unlike similar devices based on the Android OS, this is not so simple.
In the latter case, the transfer is elementary, since the smartphone is presented in the "Explorer" as a regular removable disk. But how on iPhone to take photos from a computer? Let's find out!
Bit of theory
If you are a little interested in high technology, then you know about the full and all-consuming love of people from Cupertino for patents and other proprietary topics. For such a company to make transferring files from your computer to your smartphone simple? Yes, never! And therefore, before you take photos from your computer on iPhone, you will have to install iTunes anyway, simply called “tuna” in the common people.
However, in the framework of this article we will consider not only the legal, but also not too “legal” way of transferring photos. In short, make yourself comfortable.
First method
First, try to remember well the path to the folder in which the necessary files are located. If you do not have much experience in such matters, you can simply copy it to your desktop - so the risk of getting confused will be reduced to a minimum.
Next, connect the cable to your smartphone, plug the other end into the USB port of the computer. Since it is impossible to take a photo on iPhone without it, you will have to buy a cable in advance.
Next, launch the aforementioned iTunes. After starting the program, go from it to your device. Immediately we get into the overview dialog box of the "insides" of our smartphone. Select the "photo" section.
Synchronization
Now, check the box next to “Sync photos with.” We select the same folder, the photo from which should go to the smartphone. If there is also a video in the folder, and you want to see it on the phone, also check the "Including video" box. Before you take photos on your iPhone from your computer, it’s best to make sure that there are not too many files in the folder.
The Windows client sometimes behaves strangely, so it is better not to experiment with large volumes. If you pre-check the box next to the item "Selected folders", you can set for synchronization only those files and directories that you need.
In the end, you can click on “Synchronize”, humbly waiting for the end of the process. When it completes successfully, all files sent to it will appear on your iPhone.
Unfortunately, this method is not suitable for everyone. Many, in principle, do not experience especially positive emotions from iTunes, and the fact that the user actually does not have any access to the file system of his device inspires a few.
Another variant
Before you take photos on your iPhone from your computer this way, it is important to jailbreak. There is plenty of information on it, so there should be no problems. It should be noted that if it is performed incorrectly, it is quite possible to make a brick out of the phone, so that all operations are performed as carefully as possible.
Unfortunately, even a hacked iPhone is not very user friendly, and therefore you will have to install some special file manager on the computer. We recommend using iTools, although now there are dozens of its analogues, which are not inferior in functionality to this program.
We also connect the smartphone to the computer by connecting it via a USB cable. Open your file manager, go along the path "/ var / mobile / Media / DCIM / 100APPLE". How do you know that you have opened the correct directory?
If you see the files IMG _ *** / VID _ *** there, then everything is in order. It should be noted that such "flaws" in the catalog will only be if you have already uploaded photos to the phone earlier. Then everything is simple. Select the files you need, and then simply drag them from the computer to the iPhone, using the usual Drag-and-Drop technique.
Why do users not like iTunes?
Unfortunately, this program for the official synchronization of files with Apple's smartphones causes user dislike, not only because of certain inconveniences in use. First, we have already noted some of its tendency to “brakes”. But the fact that when transferring photos via iTunes, their quality noticeably suffers is much more unpleasant. This is due to the fact that the smartphone software slightly compresses the files.
However, if you do not want to take risks, flashing expensive equipment with third-party firmware, “tuna” sometimes remains the only reliable option.
What features are there in using older versions of iTunes?
How to transfer photos to iPhone using old versions of tuna? In principle, there are no special differences in their work. The only feature: if during synchronization you do not mark any folders with photos that are already on the phone, the program will delete them. Remember this when working with some important and rare photos!
However, new versions of the program are also characterized by similar behavior, however, their help file about this moment is described in more detail.
