Jordan International Airports

The Kingdom of Jordan has not yet become very popular among tourists, but guarantees a high class of service. Over the past decades, for travelers this destination is the safest in the Middle East.

How to get to the country

To get into the kingdom, you can use a car, train or plane. The bulk of tourists arrive in the country through the airports of Jordan. Travelers from non-Arab countries must have a visa, which is issued upon arrival at border points.

Crossing the King Hussein Bridge (West Bank) is the only exception; here you must obtain a visa in advance. Travelers who wish to stay in the country for a longer period than one month can renew their visa at any police station. This procedure can be done twice. Extend for three months.

Jordan Tourism

Jordan is known for two tourist centers - the capital of the kingdom of Amman and the southern resort of Aqaba. Between these two cities, the distance is only 300 kilometers. But it is precisely on this segment that all the unique historical objects of the kingdom are concentrated: the city of Petra, the main river of all Orthodox Jordan, the Wadi Rum desert, Mount Sky, the Moses memorial, the Dead and Red Sea.

Therefore, it was prudent to build the main airports of Jordan precisely in these two cities - Amman and Aqaba. Tourists can safely plan their trip based on the point of arrival and visit those places that interest them.

Aqaba King Hussein Airport

In 1972, the airport of Aqaba (Jordan) was inaugurated , and King Hussein became its first passenger , and the airport was named after him. In the early 2000s, the main airport complex and auxiliary buildings were subjected to a general reconstruction. Today, this airport is the largest in the country and serves up to 130,000 passengers a year.

A local bank branch is located on the territory of the airport complex. Here, any tourist with a passport can take a small amount of a loan, get a credit card, open a deposit, replenish his account on his mobile phone, and also buy a fresh press. A bank branch is open on weekdays from 9-00 to 20-00 local time.

On the second floor of the complex there is a waiting room for departing and a VIP room. To go to the VIP-hall and use the services offered, you must pay 35 Jordanian dinars (approximately this is 46 euros).

You can buy Jordanian traditional souvenirs - homespun carpets, hookah, mosaic works, Bedouin ornaments and much more in the Duty Free store, which is located in the departure zone for international-class flights. The store is open seven days a week from 8-00 in the morning until the last flight.

Amman Airport

In 1983, another airborne harbor was named in the Jordan International Airports list, named after King Hussein's wife, Queen Alia. An important air hub of the country serves more than 10 million people a year.

Jordan airports

Amman Airport (Jordan) is the largest air complex in terms of passenger traffic in the kingdom. Arrivals pass through two terminals: the north (serves the passengers of a local company) and the south (serves the passengers of other airlines). In the near future, reconstruction of all terminals is planned.

In the north terminal there is a vip-hall in which the following services are provided: comfortable rooms with shower and toilet, if necessary, the rooms can be spent the night. Also in the territory of the vip-hall there are cafeterias, free internet and a free press.

Those who do not want to use the services of the vip room spend their leisure time in the usual waiting room. There are three cafes, kiosks with fresh newspapers, and you can charge the phone if necessary. A shower is available for a fee.

Jordan's modern airports serve thousands of passengers daily. At the same time, the work of airport employees is fast and of high quality.
