…Why? Why does n't skype work ?! Is that familiar? Have you asked yourself this question more than once? And as a rule, such a question arises precisely when a special, I would say, extraordinary situation arises in which the advice of a loved one is simply necessary. Moreover, at such moments, neither recommendations as a bored chat on any social network, nor e-mail suit me. I need just Skype! For what? So that when you see your native face, hear painfully familiar intonations and notes in your voice, calm down, gather your thoughts and find the right way out of a difficult situation or a heap of heaps of problems.
And now, just according to the "law of meanness" that has not yet been studied, but clearly existing and confirmed by the experience of many , something happens and my application stops working ... Why doesn’t Skype start and why now?
Let's try to figure it out together. First of all, I would like to reassure the novice users, and it is they who, I believe, will become the main readers of this article of mine in the future. This problem is far from new, many sooner or later face it, and it is completely solvable.
There are several reasons that can answer the question why Skype does not work.
Option 1.
Check if your computer is connected to the Internet. To do this, it will be enough to try to go to some other sites or try to run, for example, icq, Mail.ru Agent or Messenger. If there is no connection, contact your provider. Most likely, the point is not in Skype, but in the low connection speed or in its complete absence.
Option 2
Try restarting your computer and try connecting to skype again. Did not work out? Why doesn’t Skype turn on even after these procedures? Now let's figure it out. Go to the next item.
Option 3
The application developers themselves offer such a solution to the problem called “Why doesn’t Skype work?”:
- close the program completely;
- go to the "Start" menu;
- click “Run” - “% appdata% \ skype”;
- Enter key.
Option 4
Sometimes the application does not load as well after uninstallation and reinstallation. Even if you perform a system restore to a previous date (the day when, as you remember, Skype worked), this is unlikely to help. According to experts, the computer virus that appeared in the device is guilty of what is happening. It is recommended that you carefully check your device with a licensed (ideally) antivirus program. Very often, malware uses Skype as a donor to attack other users from your contact list. Once you destroy the viruses, Skype will load.
Option 5
Reinstalling the program with cleaning all profile data and the system itself using the special Ccleaner program. I will explain how to do it correctly:
- Uninstall Skype. To do this, click:
- “Start”; 4
- "Control Panel";
- “Programs and components”;
- Skype
- And finally, “Delete.”
- Now you will need to delete the user profile itself. If Windows 7 is installed on your computer, your profile is in the Username folder, if Windows XP is in Documents and Settings
- Install Ccleaner. We clean the registry and system.
- Reboot the device.
- Install the Skype application again.
Option 6
If you need Skype immediately, you can use a special portable program launched from a USB flash drive or disk.
