There are two international airports in Venice, and both are connected by air routes to major Russian cities.

Treviso Airport is an international airport located three kilometers from the town of Treviso and thirty kilometers from Venice. The airport is mainly used by low cost airlines. It is often informally called the Venice-Treviso, although the main air gate of the city is Marco Polo Airport. Officially, Treviso bears the name of the famous sculptor Antonio Canova.

Treviso Canova is located at an altitude of 18 meters above sea level, the length of the runway - 2420 meters, width - 45 meters. The new terminal was opened in 2007.

There are special rules for transporting liquid at the airport:

  • a container with water should not exceed a volume of 100 ml;
  • All containers must be kept in a transparent sealed bag with a maximum size of 18/23 cm.

Exceptions are made only for: medicinal fluids (with a prescription) and baby food for a newborn baby.

How to get from Treviso airport to Venice? This can be done in several ways: by bus, taxi or rented car.

Venice Mestre Train Station can be reached by bus. The stop is located on Noalese Street, to the right of the exit from the airport. Travel time will take 15-20 minutes.

From the same stop, ATVO buses run to Piazzale Roma in Venice, as well as to the tourist resorts Lido di Esolo, Cavallino-Treporti, Eraclea Mare, Duna Verde, Porto Santa Margarita, Caorle, Bibione and Lignano Sabbiadoro. The bus company ATVO has a certificate for the right of passenger transportation on route 351 "Airport Treviso-Mestre โ€“ Venice".

Tickets can be purchased online (then you can count on a lower fare) and at bus stops. At the airport, tickets are sold at the ATVO vending machine, which is located in the baggage claim area and at the ticket office of the bus company in the arrival hall. The arrival hall is open from 7:30 to 22:30.

In Venice you can buy tickets:

  • ticket office at Piazzale Roma;
  • automatic vending machine near the cash register;
  • Tabacchi Botazzo in Piazzale Roma;
  • Novo Tour agency in Piazzale Roma;
  • Agency No. 365 at the Santa Lucia train station.

On the way to Venice, buses make two stops: the first - in Corso del Popolo, in the historic center of Mestre, and the second - next to the train station.

A one-way ticket costs 12 euros, and a round-trip ticket costs 22 euros, including baggage. For groups of more than 10 people, you can get a discount of 10 euros per passenger for a one-way trip, 18 euros for a round trip. Before boarding, bus tickets are destroyed in the appropriate ticket machines.

You can get from Treviso airport to the center of Venice in another way: by bus to the Treviso train station, and then by train to Venice Mestre station or Venice Santa Lucia station .

There are several car rental companies in Treviso Canova. You can hire a car in the arrival hall on the ground floor of the building. To pick up the car, you should turn left after leaving the airport, walk along the footpath to the parking lot. After about 50 meters, the inscription โ€œCar rentalโ€ will be on the right. To return the car, you should exit the ring road to the access road to the airport, turn right and continue following signs.

There are four car parks at the airport, three of them are long-term with 564 seats. In front of the terminal building there are 50 more parking spaces for short-term parking.

Travelers note that the airport is very small and compact, all amenities are located nearby and it is simply impossible to get confused. In the cafeteria, inexpensive prices, which is rare. But you have to come to the control procedure in advance, because almost always there are queues. The bus connection is just excellent, flights run very often, and the problem of how to get from Treviso Airport to Venice is quickly resolved. Travel time takes from half an hour to forty minutes.
