Signal distribution can also be set not from the router, as is usually done, but even from a stationary terminal or laptop, in which there is a built-in or external Wi-Fi module. In general, if you look, by and large, for all those who use wireless routers, a network is created. This is a VPN. For example, several devices are connected to Wi-Fi at once, including, say, a stationary computer, laptop and smartphone or tablet. They are all on the same network. Another thing is that the devices do not see each other in this communicative organization and cannot exchange data. In this case, everything is simple!
In the settings of the connection parameters, you just need to set the permission to discover the device on the network and open the shared access to the necessary files and directories. But this is not exactly what is meant by how to create a home Wi-Fi network. It is homework, and not something else. In other words, you need to set such parameters so that only selected users can connect to the network with full access to settings or data exchange.
Router selection
The basic condition, in the first place, will be the choice of a router or ADSL modem that can work in this mode. There are enough models on the market for such devices, but first you need to pay attention to exactly which parameters you will need to use (coverage, number of simultaneously connected devices, data transfer speed, additional ports for connecting to printers and other peripheral devices, etc.).
For home use, the simple model TP-LINK TL-WR841N is not bad. It is designed for a maximum transfer rate of 100 Mbps. For an apartment or a private house, this is enough with the head. Another model is the TL-WR1045ND, which costs three times more.
But such a router has additional Ethernet connectors, three antennas (for a larger coverage area) and allows you to use data transfer at a speed of 1 Gbit / s.
Create a home network on the computer: initial setup of the router
The choice of router is yours. But suppose you purchased the first model. How to create a home network via this type of WiFi router? First, check the initial settings of the router.
In principle, provided that you have all the necessary data, a specialist from the provider company can not be called, because setting the necessary parameters is more than simple. First, enter the device’s interface through any available web browser by entering the address 192.168.01 or 1.1 in the address bar. Almost all models have the same addresses, with the exception of some non-standard devices like Zyxel Keenetic and similar. If you see that the packet exchange has begun, you can congratulate yourself - the connection has been successfully established.
Sharing setting

Next, you need to select the necessary directories, go to the properties through the PCM menu and open the sharing tab on the access tab. Additionally, you can use advanced settings to indicate the shared use of a network resource, but this is usually not required.
