History of creation
Serial production of the Anaconda Colt was started in 1990. Until that time, burnished high-carbon steel was used to manufacture revolvers. The developers of Colt's Manufacturing Company decided to use exclusively stainless steel. According to weapons experts, the design of Colt Anaconda was started with the goal of crowding out Smith & Wesson and Ruger Redhawk. However, after testing, it turned out that the first models of revolvers had poor accuracy of the battle, which should be further developed. As a result, the Colt's Manufacturing small arms product has become one of the more accurate using the 44 Magnum ammunition. Colt "Anaconda" due to the large size is not suitable for hidden wear. Despite the fact that since October 1999 this model has not been mass-produced anymore, until 2001 individual orders were received for its manufacture.
Description
By its design and finish, the Anaconda colt (photo of this shooting model is presented in the article) is similar to the Colt King Cobra, and the barrel, on which there are ventilated ribs, is similar to Colt Python.
The revolver is equipped with a barrel of 4, 6 and 8 inches. Neoprene was used as the material for the manufacture of the knurled handle. The weapon was equipped with a large trigger and a double-action trigger. This is a revolver with sights of the open type: fully adjustable white and front sight, in which there is a special red insert. For some models, it was possible to mount optical sights.
Since during the operation of the weapon there is a strong return, some revolvers were equipped with a muzzle brake. Judging by the reviews of the owners, the rifle units with this device compare favorably with the quality of the trigger. In order to minimize the impact and, consequently, reduce the load and provide comfortable shooting, the designers created the Anaconda with a heavy and durable construction.
How does a revolver work?
The location of the drummer was the frame, not the trigger. The model has an automatic fuse, thanks to which contact between the hammer and the trigger is possible after the trigger is fully pressed. Kinetic energy from the trigger to the hammer is transmitted through a safety transfer rod, which is used as an automatic fuse. If the trigger is in the front position, then the bar is in the bottom. After the trigger is cocked, it rises, resulting in the transfer of energy.
