Ties for cargo are specialized devices used on railway, automobile platforms, on the decks of water transport for securing cargo of various types. They provide reliable fixation by pressing to the platform, preventing displacement when driving on poor-quality road surface, slopes and during sharp turns. In addition, they prevent the scattering of modular cargoes such as logs, blocks or crates. The use of this element is governed by the rules of transportation, so it should be in the equipment of any transport intended for cargo transportation.
Varieties
Couplers for cargo automobile for functional purpose and execution are divided into two types:
- the components have two belts of different lengths, one is connected to a ratchet device, the other has a free end and a hook;
- ring ties for cargo are connected with a ratchet mechanism and look like a looped belt.
The first option has become most widespread due to the possibility of using with platforms of any kind and fixing bulk cargo.
Design
Ring ties for cargo consist of one belt connected on one side with a ratchet mechanism, while there are no fasteners and hooks. Both belts of the composite version are connected to a ratchet and have fasteners in the form of a carbine or hook on the other end. The ratchet is a simple version of a ratchet mechanism equipped with a lever drive, with it you can fix and select the length of the belt. It is based on a metal frame on which a short belt and a drum with a hole designed for the free part of a long belt are fixed. On both sides of the drum there are gears to which the handle is pressed. The rotation of the mechanism is locked using a valve. It is also used to loosen the system in order to freely pull out the belt, it is enough to pull out the valve and raise the lever.
Materials
For the manufacture of screeds, polymer synthetic fibers are used, for example, nylon, nylon and polyester. The materials are resistant to exhaust gas, alkali, gasoline, grease, dirt and moisture, can withstand heavy loads and are highly durable. The quality of polymer belts is constant over a wide temperature range, so they can be used in any latitude.

Of particular importance are the size and weight of the goods transported. There are two main methods of fixation: anchor and cape. Transportation of any goods must be in accordance with safety rules. Particular attention should be paid to the condition of the screeds, in particular the integrity of the retainers and belts, to the functioning of the ratchet. Replacement of the elements should be carried out when the slightest damage occurs. At the same time, it is not always necessary to purchase the entire structure; it may be sufficient to install a new mechanism or belt. Ties for cargo should not have mechanical damage and tearing, this is necessary for high-quality fastening of items and to ensure the safety of both the driver and other participants in the movement.
